If the guy is "top 15", then he's likely towards the bottom of that range. But what's most complicating is that he's 41 years old, noticeably slow and would probably still take $15 million to sign. Whether Rodgers still puts butts in seats is debatable, but I don't think the guy is going to be selling that many jerseys.

Consider the organizations out there that would want such a QB. If you were a GM, you'd have to think you both had 1-2 years of runway before needing to get a better QB solution and/or was already on the cusp of a deep playoff run. That's a pretty short list, in the end:

Bills - NO
Dolphins - maybe?
Patriots - okay
Jets - XXXXXXXXXXX

Chiefs - NO
Chargers - No...*
Broncos - NO
Raiders - okay

Ravens - NO
Steelers - sure
Bengals - NO
Browns - NO

Texans - NO
Colts - okay
Jaguars - NO
Titans - NO*

Eagles - NO
Commanders - NO
Cowboys - probably not
Giants - NO

Rams - NO*
Seahawks - probably not
Cardinals - maybe*
49ers - sure

Lions - NO
Packers - NO
Bears - NO
Vikings - NO*

Buccaneers - No*
Falcons - Probably the best option
Saints - NO
Panthers - NO

That yields: Pats, Raiders, Steelers, 49ers, Colts and Falcons. Anywhere else, and it's an unnecessary gamble when there aren't enough pieces there, just like the Jets were, or he's consenting to be backup (*). At age 41, this is the best scenario all around for Rodgers. He'd have a chance to help a team for a playoff run and/or train a young QB, certainly something he's capable of. Then again, he's a dumbo head case, and will probably insist he can win three more Super Bowls with whatever team eventually signs him.
I bolded every single team that would be in better shape with Rodgers under center and that includes Green Bay. He ain't going to GB or staying with the Jets but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be a better choice.

The 3 in bold that I'm not a 100% confident on are Bucs (not high on Mayfield though), Chargers and maybe the Broncos but at this point Nix only has youth and energy that is superior but I'm not sure Rodgers and Peyton mesh.

Why would you want a locker room cancer on your team for 1-2 seasons max? His skills are declining and he’s never shown the slightest indication that he is willing or able to mentor a young QB. Hard pass.
Dude you are underestimating the team building sessions in dark rooms for a week and how that can build a team.

sry dude, I've always loved the Steelers organization. But if they were willing to take a chance on a washed up has-been once...

I guess I don’t understand why he would want to go to any of the teams that could potentially want him. There just aren’t many teams out there that are one washed 41 year old QB away from contention.

My point is, almost none of those teams are ready for a playoff run and are planning for the future. Rodgers is old. He's slow. He's dumb. He's injury-prone. If we were talking about a 37-yr-old Rodgers, I'd say sure, roll the dice and see if you can get a couple of good years out of him. But he's 41 and about to get waived from one of the worst teams in the NFL.

And while you'd never confuse me for someone who thinks Jordan Love is a superstar, he's at least "good enough" and that can still win you championships.

At no time did I say he would take any of those teams to the Super Bowl.

I don’t see anyone outside the Chiefs, Bills, Eagles, Ravens, Bengals, Lions, Texans. Commanders or Vikings making the Super Bowl next year and the only team on that list he would have a shot at would be the Vikings.

Instead of treating him with the warmth of a polar ice cap -- similar to the fashion in which Brett Favre once treated Rodgers before his own departure for New York -- Rodgers was surprisingly more welcoming to Love than had been previously described. This carried over through Rodgers' split from the Packers, according to Love.

"We talked after the trade. Kind of just wish you the best going forward, he wished me the best," Love said of Rodgers. "Always there for me if I need anything or had any questions. I was just grateful to be around him and for the time I had with him. To be able to learn and be behind him, it's very grateful for me."

Again, the teams I listed aren't looking for a 1-year rental, because they aren't close enough to a deep playoff run, barring only the player formerly known as Aaron Rodgers. They're looking for a quarterback of the future, who hopefully can, in 2-3 seasons, take his team to a Super Bowl. In Rodgers's wildest dreams, he manages to be a top-10 QB for what- a season or two? Any GM who goes out and gets him now is either (A) so craven with an attempt to put butts in seats, (B) only wants him to be a backup / bridge to rebuilding & educating the new kid, or (C) so deluded in thinking that AR is the savior and that a miracle championship season is on the way.

In my lifetime of intense study of the NFL, only two teams are stupid enough to engage in Option C, and AR is about to get cut from one of them.

So you would rather have Caleb as your QB instead of Rodgers at this point in time right now? No way it would be much better for Caleb to learn on the sidelines at this point in his career.
Abso-fucking-lutely.

You wanna take a rookie that started the whole season, who threw for 3,541 yards, 20 TDs and 6 INTs and put him on the bench behind a washed up prima donna with a dumptruck full of drama and ego? Nah fam. Hard pass.

You had 5 wins and of your losses 8 of them were a TD or less and Rodger's under center gets at least 3 of those Ws.

You just hate winning and I can't understand why.

And 4 of them were because our coach can't fucking count to three.

Rodgers would've been dead by week 3 behind our o-line.

You are moving the goalposts as the fit is not the debate we are going strickly off current talent.

Only the Jaguars and the Panthers ran fewer plays on offense than the Jets did last year.

The jets have had a bottom 10 offense in the league every year since 2015.

Oh and Rodgers had better TD:INT numbers than Mahomes this year. For those scoring at home.
Lulz.

2 more TDs, which are at a minimum cancelled out by the 2 pick 6s Rodgers threw (2 to zero is infinitely worse). And Rodgers had much better receivers to work with than Mahomes (Adams had more yards as a Jet than any KC receiver had). Wouldn't really hang my hat on that number.

TBF, Bears fans probably want almost anything that can be consistently adequate. But they need more than just a QB to be successful at this point, and they'll stick with the crybaby for at least another season to see how much he improves.

Then again, I may have the perfect solution for Chicago:

$59.95, Hammacher Schlemmer. A perfect spiral every time and it says right there on the box that he's "the most accurate quarterback on Earth". Just gotta paint the white parts blue!
