Pretend to work Monday before Thanksgiving

Mowed my lawn for the final time yesterday and cut down the remaining decorative grass. Just need to get the mower winterized.

Supposed to get some snow Wednesday into Thursday. Local stations keep referring to a snow storm but I am pretty sure snow must accumulate for that to be a storm right?
 
I work every day, including my remote days, and this week is fairly busy. But my last job was constant stress every day, and insurmountable workload, and this one is better. Neither job paid quite so much. I'm confident to say ... that is not true of all my coworkers.

At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter.

One guy can do nothing and make good money, another guy can work his absolute butt off and make less. Maybe that guy gets hit by a truck too or gets cancer.

You could also marry well, and I know dudes who went that route, including my brother in law. He's set for life.

What are you gonna do otherwise? Stuff your face and watch college basketball all day?

Cool, you could do that.

It doesn't matter though, nobody cares.

We’ve got like 5000 acres here. Majority of this property is woods. Future mine plans for new pits when the current one is tapped out and all that stuff that won’t happened until long after I’m gone

Even in sports it's somewhat true.

You can't say with certainty that Patrick Mahomes is so much better than Zach Wilson because he worked that much harder to get there.

That's total conjecture. For all you know, Zach Wilson was the hardest working person on the team. And he's pretty physically gifted too.

Sometimes, that's how the cookie crumbles.

That said, you have a choice ....

-Work and die

Idk why this company even has it as a work day. Most everyone appears is taking off. I'm going to at least stick around until December of 2025. Then I think 3 of the grandparents will be retired & then I can do whatever.

My wife's company "works" the Friday after Thanksgiving. She was able to get PTO but its not always a given
 
caught another mouse over the weekend, I think that's 4 for the fall
 
Morning. It's been one heck of a Monday so far I think things have calmed down... But yes I will be working all week, minus Thanksgiving of course
