True. Plus you also don't have to worry about lugging a penis eitherI don't have to drive and lug a gas can to an electric outlet in the garage.

I had a rechargeable, didn't mind it. Only maintenance was the blade, and remembering to plug in the mower the night before. Wound up swapping mowers with my dad, and took his gas mower off his hands. I had the last model before they started making the batteries like a drill and easy to change out, so I had to do the whole yard on one charge, and if the grass got too long, it wouldn't work. My parents' house has a lot less yard, so they could do the whole thing easy with the mower.Um you don't want to deal with putting gas in a mower but you are at peace with putting in a battery and charging it each time?
saw her on chopped

getting the mower out, putting the battery in the mower, recharging the battery
getting the hose house, rewinding the hose when done

In all honesty I can see the benefits for having a battery powered model. I don't think it will be practical for my needsI had a rechargeable, didn't mind it. With a gas mower, I have to change the oil, add gas, get it to start, etc. With the battery one, I just flipped the switch and went. Will probably go with one of the multi-battery setups the next time I buy a mower.
I have a small-ish yard (about 1/3 of an acre). When we first moved in, we got my in-laws' hand-me-down plug-in electric, which was a massive pain in the balls. Decided to give the battery powered one a whirl, and it worked pretty well the first couple of years, then as the battery began to degrade, I'd basically have to either mow every week or resign myself to doing the front yard one day and the back yard another. Since I couldn't just pop a battery in and out, it became more of a pain in the ass than it was worth. My parents have maybe about as much grass on their property as I have on my front lawn, so they don't have the same issue. In all honesty I can see the benefits for having a battery powered model. I am in no way a mechanically inclined person but I like getting my mower ready for the season with changing the oil, filter, sharpening the blade etcI have a small-ish yard (about 1/3 of an acre). I wouldn't mind doing it per se, but I got so used to not doing it. When my parents bought their house, the first mower we had was the old school total manual push mower, just blades, wheels, and a handle. Dad eventually bought a wired plug-in, and they used that for a real long time until he got sick of the cord and bought the gas mower. I'd been out of the house for a bit by then, and had the plug-in and the battery one. And this year, I'm just hiring out a guy to mow the lawn. This guy already cuts the neighbors' grass, and he'll do the whole shebang for me for $40. Saves me some time on the weekend, when I'm either going to be fixing up a swingset or wanting to go to a pool somewhere. Maybe next year, I'll get back to it.I am in no way a mechanically inclined person but I like getting my mower ready for the season with changing the oil, filter, sharpening the blade etc
I thought about hiring a guy, but they want 80 to 100 a week for mine. Most people here don't have yards like mine, and these guys get 40 a week to basically run a leaf blower aroundI wouldn't mind doing it per se, but I got so used to not doing it. There is a story here...just not sure I want to know itI have a gas powered mower I bought off Craigslist many years ago for $50(came with a free mattress).
I have kept it maintained and in good running order, sharpened the blade, etc. I need to get a new air filter for it.
