Wasn't my intention to bring a dead ball era player into a modern era discussion, TY Cobb hit 117 HR's in a 24 year career. Teddy won 2 triple crowns and most likely would have threatened Babe Ruth's record if not for the nearly 5 full prime seasons he spent flying for the Navy and Marines.
