First an ancient Pete Carrol and now an ancient Geno Smith who was never all that good in his prime. Might as well draft Sanders too.

Geno is a bum. He's only played in one playoff game and lost that. What in his past makes you believe he is a value to the Raiders?

They started Gardner Minshew and Aiden O’Connell last season. Geno is a significant upgrade until they get their QB of the future.

He is an upgrade but I don't think he is a give to a 3rd round pick upgrade

He's been playing behind a horrendous OL, can only go up.
 
I may be the only person who doesn't hate this move. Geno is 34 but he still has a ton of tread on the tires. He's only had a starter's workload for 5 seasons, and only played in 94 career games. He was 4th in the league in yards, had the same YPA as Burrow and the same QB rating as guys like Mahomes and Stafford. The Seattle OL was horrendous the running game was almost as bad. I could see the Raiders grab a guy like Lockett for continuity sake, and with a much improved QB they could actually be a solid team.

I keep thinking there's an imminent end of the line for Geno, but then this happens

I think the reality is these players like Geno and Darnold are better than their stats, and the Jets just destroy everyone. That entire organization is like the pro sports embodiment of drug-resistant syphilis.
