Stafford is 74-90-1 on the Lions, but it's the Lions.....usually their defense sucks and he has a bunch of a come from behind wins in the 4th quarter.

He had a top 3 defense and Calvin Johnson. He needed 1 win out of 3 games to go to the playoffs and couldn’t do it.
He also had a broken back missing half the season. He was injured all year this year too. He’s 33 years old.
McVay sounds super emotional. I still can’t believe this trade is real.

I don’t disagree at all. Though truthful opinion, I don’t think Stafford doesn’t fit McVay’s offense either because he isn’t at mobile at Goff (which is hard). But I do think McVay is smart enough where he can tweak his offense like he did with your backup and Stafford is better than both.
We don’t have to have a mobile QB. We need a QB with pocket awareness. Goff was awful at making a quick decision, stepping up in the pocket (no balls) or even running for 3-4 yards. Mcvay got the guy he wanted so I’ll have to trust it
You don’t need a “mobile” quarterback. But Goff/the Rams offense is best when the quarterback can do a hard fake and roll out. Which IMO Stafford isn’t ideal for. But Stafford is the better player and I am sure McVay will tailor the offense a little different because you have Kupp and he is the perfect receiver for any type of offense.

Alex Smith is better than Goff will ever be.
Every offense is better with a mobile QB. Question is are they accurate in the pocket or on the run and how many hits can they take?
I’m just looking for a tougher QB that can stand in the pocket or even move up an make a play

I will never forget that episode of Hard Knocks when Goff had to be told that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. He then went around telling everyone that like he had learned the theory of relativity.
I just don’t think he’s smart enough to be an NFL QB. In the SB the pats exploited that by switching defenses after the headset in his helmet mic went dead. This prevented McVay from telling him the defense.

If you are questioning Stafford's toughness, think again. He has played through some difficult injuries his entire career.

Yes, he has been injury prone and I didn't question his toughness, just his durability.

He's missed 23 games his entire career. (6 of those was in his rookie year and 1st year in and out of the lineup)

Rodgers has missed fewer games despite being 6 years older than Stafford.
Smith is his prime was more mobile, Goff has a bigger arm. I only equated the two because they are very similar in terms of they have flashes but neither one can carry an offense if the defense takes away the run game. Plug (an uninjured Smith) instead of Goff against the Patriots and I don’t think it makes a difference. Plug a big arm like Stafford and I think the Rams might have won.
