I’m predicting the Cardinals sneak in as the second wild card and parlay that into a World Series title.

The Cards are always most dangerous in the postseason when they back door their way in.

Their 2006 WS title, they won like 83 games in the regular season, essentially a .500 club

And then in 2011 when they won their other WS, they won the Wild Card on the last day of the season after an epic September collapse from the Braves(that luckily was overshadowed by an equally epic collapse by the Red Sox). Snuck their way in again and again rode that all the way to a championship

Gonna happen again this year

If they get in, they’re winning it all. Don’t trust the Reds or Padres to keep em out either. I’d like em if they’d ditch their roid rage machine they have at catcher

this wouldn't even surprise me. I have my doubts that Cardinals Devil Magic is dead.

Cardinals offense is equivalent to a B1G football game at 9am on ESPN2 with Beth Mowins on the call.

That 2006 Cardinal team was the perfect sform late In the year. Waino was a rookie and once he slid into the closer role late, the team started to come together. Never forget him freezing Beltran with that curveball in game 7.

This years Cardinal team have 2-3 HOFers on it and a bad ass closer ?

The 2006 Cards had a terrible September. They didn’t start rolling until the playoffs started.

The Cards have 3 potential HOFers in Arenado, Goldschmidt and Molina(even though Molina doesn’t deserve to be in, he will be), but no dominant closer

In 2006 Wainwright didn't become closer until September.

I foresee Flaherty coming back, going to the pen, and ending up closing since he doesn't have time to get his starting arm back.

Test Yadier Molina as he leaves the on-deck circle to walk to the plate, not a moment before. That is how exact of a science his PED usage is.

Not going to win a WS without a closer

2006 i remember AW being the closer pretty late in the year. That team had a lot of experience so they were ready obviously. WS was a beat down.

it’s Laughable you think Molina doesn’t get in the HOF. Multiple playoff runs, one of the best clutch hitting catchers I’ve seen and one of the best defensive catchers ever in the game.

How many GGs and AS games?
