My niece's husband is a HUGE Packers fan. I tried having a conversation with him before the season and he was convinced Jordan Love would another Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. When I said GB would have a big dropoff at QB -- he would hear nothing of it.

I'm sure there are so many other GB fans like him though -- I'd be the same way if all I ever knew was QB's who were superstars. Instead -- I'm a Lions fan and I'm in denial that our team is finally good, because all I know is heart break.

At this point, I'm not really sure what Jordan Love is. I do know he's not Favre or Rodgers, but he doesn't have to be with this team. What he needs to be is a guy that doesn't give games away while learning how to actually play QB. We'll see if he can accomplish that.

Us older guys remember the days of John Hadl all too well. I think Love is serviceable, but his receivers need more experience. No need to panic.

You are correct....heck I actually remember when my older brother-in-laws were calling for Starr to retire. After that came Dan Devine fucking the franchise up for 7 years with the Hadl trade, then Starr being too much of himself, then Gregg and finally they brought in a real football guy in Wolff. The mid 70's to early 90's were really rough as a Packer and UW fan....really rough...hell the Lions worked the Packers on the regular and the only highlight in Madison were the Northwestern games and we usually didn't get boat raced in that game.
