This is an excellent move IMO. He's young, has ties to the organization, and had a decade of experience as Director of Player Personnel before taking over as assistant GM in Carolina in 2021.

They traded for McCaffery and I still don't know what they got for him because it hasn't showed on the field. Carolina is one of the worst run outfits in the NFL. If they had given Cam one decent receiver in his prime to go with Olsen at Tightend they might have actually won a Super Bowl.
