This undeveloped crawl space…

Will she be able to stand up in there?

Cuz the only crawl spaces I know, you know, you have to crawl in them. Lol
She has to shimmy through there to get air every 30 mins

LOL, it will have 8 FT ceiling height which is up to code for the area we are in. She'll have enough room because we're a bunch of tiny asians.

It other words, a crawl space for Asians is totally different than a crawl space for normal sized humans.

First off, Racist.

Second, depending on where you're at in the bay area, the crawl space can be like 2 feet high underneath a home or much larger because of all the natural hills. My home is a bit on a slope, so the they built a much larger crawl space to make sure the home had the necessary height. For example you can enter my back yard on the top side of my home which puts you level with the top floor of the home, or you can enter the back yard on the bottom side, which is level to the bottom floor (2 story home).

Right now our place is listed as 1820 square feet (3b/2ba). We're adding another bedroom and bath, with an extra 500 sq ft.

So value-wise, we're going to be getting a massive jump after this remodel is done. Probably will increase value of the home by nearly 30%.

Just curious, how much dough does a project like that cost? Aren't lumber prices still pretty high?

Luckily it's not a new, new construction. Just a few interior walls going up, but yes the cost of lumber is crazy high still.

It's projecting to be about $400 a square foot, which according to my friend who works in the industry is pretty reasonable for the scope of work we're having done. The price range generally varies from about $350-$500 a square foot in our area.

But the market value of our area is over $1,000 a square foot, so we're already going to be getting a massive ROI.

I hate being sick. I hate it even more when being sick makes me forget my virtual job interview and they call 20 minutes after my time to make sure I wasn't having issues.

I’m kinda thinking you guys are going to have a small, finished basement.

Only two of us at our house, but the Asian one has taken the basement for the office.

Yeah it's not necessarily a basement, but the floor conversion. It's not completely submerged underground and there's a separate entrance in the back. But same principle mostly. It'll have a full bathroom, small kitchenette and a living space/bedroom combo space.

My basement has windows.

We’d like to make it a walk out, but gotta move a lot of dirt to do that. Someday…

We're currently remodeling the kitchen as we try to get our foster license to adopt. Nothing quite like home improvement projects.
