Maharis, 94, died on May 24, 2023 and starred in the popular early 60s TV series Route 66 as Buz Murdock along with Martin Milner (1931-2015), as Tod Stiles. The two traveled across the United States in a Corvette, taking a variety of odd jobs along the way and getting involved in other people's problems.

Strange story. George Michael using Maharis as a name in a show. Anyway, in 1975 Maharis and another guy were arrested for performing lewd acts in an LA restroom somehow, and they each paid a $500 fine. In those days reports like this were generally kept quiet in the news,
