RIP Jeremy Giambi

had an OPS over .900 when they traded him.

He batted .244/.435/.538 with the Phillies after the trade. Meanwhile, Mabry had a career 90 OPS+ and had a 122 OPS+ with the A's

In their befuddled mind, at that moment, it made sense.

Don't want to "go there" but let's just say, it's very difficult for me when fans of famous actors/comedians glorify an individual who chose suicide.
it 100% takes away from their overall character...but that doesn't mean it should overshadow who they were.

like with Anthony Bourdain. The public Anthony Bourdain was loved and great at what he did, but what he did to his family and girlfriend by taking his life is just unacceptable...I know it isn't always their fault and they have demons...but that's not a solution I can respect.

Yeah, and while I get that it's extremely complicated, glorifying an individual who chose suicide and making them out to be a victim is disgusting.
I think you can still glorify them in a sense for what they were...but they shouldn't be idolized.

From what? Roids?

Anybody who does that to their parent's or any family members, making them come home to find that is a fucking piece of shit.
Not sure. It’s just an interesting choice. My cousin’s youngest son broke into his dad’s house (my cousin’s ex-husband) and killed himself in his living room. It’s a shitty thing to do. My cousin is still all fucked up about it and it’s been seven years now.
