RIP Ned Beatty

For me he first was a braying idiot in Superman. That was a step up from being a braying, incestuous idiot in Deliverance.

I learned long ago that it takes a very good actor to play an idiot convincingly. He proved that again and again through his career. The man was very talented.

Funny….thinking about what I would post earlier I kept thinking of Dan Conners father. He was extremely good in this. Even though it was a smashing sitcom, it was just a sitcom and solid performances like this can get missed.
 
Always think of him as Stan Bolander.
