Rivalry Games This Week...

Mizzou and Arkansas have a :airquotes: rivalry :airquotes: game forced by the SEC.

You know it's a shitty rivalry when I as a Mizzou fan see Arkansas pushing towards the top 10 and think that's pretty cool, good for them.

I get nervous any time Ohio State plays the Vagerines, because even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and again.

I wasn't worried at all last season if it were to happen. We were going to absolutely obliterate them.

when they get into pods.. wonder who they designate Mizzu with as their rival (opponent for this week)?

UT/aggy
ou/mizzu?
ou/piggy?
ou/LSU?
LSU/piggy?

They'll probably keep it as Arkansas because the SEC has tried so hard to make this whole Battle Line Rivalry a thing. Maybe it will be more of one in a few years especially if they're podded together but for now it just feels so meh and forced. Maybe OU if the conference wants the Battle for the Golden Boot to move to rivalry week and Bedlam gets suspended.

i would be torn on that, b/c i felt like Arkansas/LSU games were pretty competitive for the most. Arkansas/LSU on Friday was one of the non-ACC games I watched every year when i was a kid.

with OU/Mizzou, you have two teams that have a long history of playing each other, but the games were pretty lopsided. OU fans would probably groan about having to play a team they have historically dominated on rivalry week. That is the choice they made when they decided to leave the Big 12, though. So deal with it.

Yeah I don't think Mizzou or OU fans want that to be the rivalry week game for the reasons stated. Maybe they move the RRS to Rivalry Week so they could do Mizzou/A&M and LSU/Arkansas that week. I doubt they'd move the RRS but it feels like nothings sacred anymore with rivalries so who knows.

i don't think they would do that because of the Texas State fair shit that is associated with the RRSO.

I think Mizzou/OU makes as much sense as Mizzou/A&M. tbh, Missouri is just on an island in the SEC w/o any real rivals. Just have to take what you can get.

Wonder if Oregon State is watching how Utah did that to Oregon. The Beavers could do it.

Forgot about the Texas State Fair, so yeah that's out. I still think at the end of the day it'll be Mizzou/Arkansas, I definitely hear that take what you could get point but from the OU side I feel like Mizzou would be such a lackluster rivalry week opponent, especially if it ends up replacing the Bedlam game, and I just can't see the powers the be letting that happen.

i mean, the scenario that makes the most scene is for Bedlam + KU/Mizzou to resume on this weekend, but of course that would require bitter feelings to be cast aside.

Well Mizzou and kansas do have games scheduled in both football and basketball coming up so maybe. I would love to have rivalry weekend be Bedlam, Golden Boot, Border War and the Lone Star Showdown.

I’m about as negative of a UGA fan as you can find, and this team has its faults(slow starting offense, playing the wrong QB, the HC, etc), but honestly nothing about Georgia Tech scares me. If the starters aren’t pulled before halftime, something is wrong. This is the best UGA team of my lifetime and GT hasn’t beat UGA in Atlanta since the Clinton administration
ND just shut them out 55-0. GA Tech has a bad O-line. You can and should relax this weekend.

How cool would it be for Florida’s backup QB to get a start, and destroy FSU?

a man can dream…

Can't spell Arkansas without Kansas.
