If anyone thinks this should be in a different home, feel free to move it there.

I like to play a computer simulation baseball game called Out Of The Park. OOTP for short. I have done this on older versions but not on OOTP 20.

I will start in 1972 covering the beginning of the Texas Rangers as they move to Arlington from Washington, DC. OOTP historical seasons ave some different rules than real life. Such as, the Amateur Draft taking place in December and not June.

Feel free to read along and comment and root for your team and say the Rangers suck. I just do this to amuse myself.

This game is pretty sweet. I have the 2020 version.

I have two favorite baseball sims.

For a single season replay, I think Stratomatic is the best.

For multiseasons, OOTP is by far the best game on the market. And that includes, easily, MLB The Show.

When I was younger, I played a sim called Baseball Mogul. OOTP shits all over it.

i'm not big on single season replay, so stratomatic isn't for me. OOTP is the tits

I played Mogul as well.

Yeah, OOTP just crushes it. Especially if you want to get into administering with the minor leagues and the like.

So much richer in detail on the business management side in OOTP from coaches to strategy. And the in-game strategy options in OOTP are so detailed. Incredible.

yeah, i usually do fictional leagues

for some reason, i have never been interested in doing a real-world sim

Makes sense. We already know what happened in the real world.

I know some players who enable the "real-life lineups and transactions" option.

I leave those turned off.

I have the Atlanta Braves draft George Brett; Chicago White Sox trade Wilbur Wood; then it becomes a totally different alternate reality.

i may do a real world sim one day just to see how many WS titles the Braves would win in the 90s and early 00s on OOTP
