Yeah, worked out so well for Taggart. Cristobal saw that first hand. He's got it made at Oregon. Dude is hours away from winning his third straight conference championship. He owns the West. Oregon is just beginning to rise to their potential under him, he isnt going back home until he brings a national title to Eugene.
Off to a good start with your prediction there. We got this rematch. 3peat this conference and Cristobal signs long term contract to stay in Eugene.
This is all artificial noise

Best of luck to Coach Cristobal. Thanks for building what you built here at Oregon and building the brand up. With that said, he made a terrible mistake. You hate to see it.
Seeing what Miami did to Diaz over the last couple of weeks, a coach who actually ended up turning their season around and finishing 7-5, I would always be watching my back. He's capable of building Miami back up; it'll be a difficult challenge than winning at Oregon, but one he was up for taking on.

If Mario doesn't get off to a hot start Cane fans will immediately bring up the PAC-12 title game and the seat will start to get warm. Diaz wasn't terrible, he was mediocre, if Cristobal doesn't make noticeable improvements by the end of year 2, he could be coaching for his job in year 3.
Yep and I got a feeling it happens in this case. Very tough to go home and be the savior of your alma mater. Lots of pressure and Cristobal is going to have to live up to his incredible recruiting classes and they will expect immediate results. At Oregon he wasn't a splashy hire, Oregon gave him his shot and he did an amazing job with it, under those circumstances I dont think he felt as much pressure and he was able to have fun and lay down his blue print and DNA within the program. Things will be different in Miami. I think Miami becomes a job to him.You could say that for every coach.
I don't fault him for going home. I get the lure to all that and coaching for your alma mater is probably a very special thing, especially when he played there for their glory days. I think we all knew the one job that could take him away from Oregon was Miami. My two opinions on it are that the way Miami went about this was totally wrong and ridiculous and in the end, long term, this isn't the best decision. His family is there. His wife's family is there.
Sometimes these decisions have other factors outside of money or difficulty.
