This isn't a Herschell to Minnesota type deal but it does feel like it could be transformative for the Seahawks:

Per NFL insider Dov Kleiman, the Broncos are sending a massive package back to the Seahawks: a first-round pick, two second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, QB Drew Lock, defensive lineman Shelby Harris and tight end Noah Fant. In exchange, the Broncos get Wilson and a fourth-rounder.

I just don't think Wilson is worth that much.

He's not. This isn't Matt Stafford coming to LA. It's doubtful Wilson's going to make the Broncos a championship team overnight- particularly in the 2 years he's got left on his contract. He's 34 and in reasonably good health, but there's the potential that this is a very expensive 1-year deal for Denver.

Seattle, meanwhile, gets a crapload of picks and stumbles around for a season or 3 without a dominant QB.

Yeah that is a lot to pay for a QB who is on the backend of their career and more interested in promoting himself and his wife outside of the NFL than he is playing on Sundays.

Wilson is going to get a new extension and DEN doesn't have the ability to restock top young talent for a few years now. I understand them making the move, but that's a steep hill to climb now.

It’s a gamble for sure, but they were gonna be the same mediocre team if they didn’t make a big splash. It was time to either go for it or tear it down. I like going for it
