Saban is done.

Milroe can be an effective weapon if used correctly.
The issue is -- he isn't a weapon. He is the Quarterback. So he can't pick and choose when to use him to make plays, he has to be able to make plays at all times, with his arm or his legs.
Hell we made the playoffs in 14 with Blake Sims who was a converted RB. We will see if Rees can do it
Bama doesn't run a pro style offense anymore -- so the team isn't built like those years where the QB didn't matter and you could just line up and run it down everyone's throat. In today's style of offense -- if you don't have a great QB, you are going to struggle. That is Clemson's issue right now. That was Michigan's issue for a LOOOONG time.

Bama has so much talent elsewhere -- it can mask the QB issues to an extent, but against other talented teams, it is going to bite them.

Again, QB isn't the only issue though. Milroe stares down receivers and doesn't seem to be (at least so far) instinctual enough to take off when he needs to.

Offensive line has been shit all year. We don't have Devonta Smith or Julio Jones at receiver, but they've probably been the highlight of the offense outside of McClellan running in the 4th quarter last week.

And Rees' play calling has been head scratching at worse. BOB rode Young back to the NFL and did nothing to help the program for when he left. So I'll reserve full judgement on Rees until the end of the year and hopefully he he learns and improves along with Milroe and the whole offense.

It worked better vs UT last season than Kevin Steele did this season vs UT 👀

I'm not saying Bama doesn't have other issues. They do, but the biggest issue they have this season and going forward is at QB.

Prior to going to the spread offense -- Bama recruited road grading Offensive Lineman and big power backs and steam rolled opponents. The QB position didn't to do a ton and you could get by with a game manager at QB. That isn't the case now.

those OL back then were much better than the OL of today.. look at the transfers they had to grab... or playing a true fresh.. in their heydey with scrub QBs, they didn't have those type of OL.. they were LOADED..

Can say the same thing about their backfield too. You are putting too much emphasis on Milroe, failing to see the bigger picture.. they have the best QB in the current cycle coming in January (Julian Sayin).. QB is not the real concern here

Right now, their biggest issue is their QB. Milroe can't be trusted to throw the ball. The guy has thrown 5 or 6 interceptions, can't remember which, and has only thrown 100 passes in college.

It is blatantly obvious, Saban doesn't trust him to make the throws they need and he cannot read a defense to save his life. Simpson looks TERRIBLE, he looks scared out there. And the fact Buchner is even on Alabama's team is laughable. The guy wasn't terrible at ND.

Alabama doesn't run an offense now where you can get by with mediocre QB play and still compete for titles. That is the only goal for Bama is to win titles. I would bet quite a bit Alabama loses 3, 4 games this year.

And having a HS recruit coming in, in the future is great -- Simpson was a 5 star QB recruit. How is that working out? Nothing is guaranteed with that and it could take the kid a year or two to get used to CFB.

It is the same reason why we've seen Clemson struggle the last few years. They haven't had elite QB play and to win titles -- that is what you have to have.

Here is the Tuscaloosa News saying the QB position this year is the worst it has been in any year Saban has been coach and Alabama has had some lousy QB's.

The issue is -- they are not built to ground and pound teams anymore -- so if your QB can't push the ball downfield, the offense is going to have issues, which they are having.

lol

Haven't we seen this movie before?

Something changes in cfb, Bama struggles with it (struggle being relative), Saban bitches about it, people say Bama's run is over, Saban figures it out or hires someone who can and Bama goes back to kicking everyone's ass.
