I just played this for my SIL. She is offended and mad as hell, especially for someone that cannot tell you if it is offense or defense that has the ball ... Saban all but called her by name in that rant.
 
Meh...these are still the people that allow him to make 10 million dollars a year.

Understand where he is coming from, but he sort of built these expectations as well

He was wrong in the fact that they are paid to play there now.

The Alabama fan base is so spoiled it’s becoming pathetic. They really don’t remember what life was like pre Saban(mostly because they were all Florida fans before Saban got to Bama). These fucks don’t appreciate what they have. There is not a less deserving fanbase of all this success. It’s proof positive that karma doesn’t exist.

You are both right and wrong.

You are right that they are a spoiled fan base. They also feel entitled and are arrogant. You are wrong that it all started with Saban and that they were Florida fans before. That's a low blow! They were already spoiled, arrogant and entitled when Shula, Fran, DuBose, Stallings, Curry and Bryant were coaching there.

True Story:

I was born and raised in Brimngham, and my folks went to Alabama. I had an Alabama elephant in my bassinet. I went to my first Alabama game in 1971 vs. Southern Miss. I went to many games (mostly @ Legion Field) growing up before I moved to Florida in my teens. So, I've been a fan for a while.

My wife was born and raised in Iowa as a life long Cyclone fan and graduated from ISU as I did. When we met (during the Dubose Era), she started watching and following Alabama football too. The first game I took her to was the 2000 game @ UCLA (Dubose Era). Alabama lost 35-24. Walking out of the Rose Bowl, she said: "This was an awesome day in a great stadium and a great trip, but the next time you take me to an Alabama game, THEY BETTER WIN!"

So, the next game that I took her to was the 2002 game @ Hawaii (Fran Era). Alabama won 21-16. On the way out of Aloha Stadium, I said: "Like you asked after the UCLA game, I made sure your next game was a WIN." She turned, looked me in the eye and said: "Yeah, but they didn't win by enough!" I just laughed and said: "You are a REAL Alabama fan now!"

It comes with the territory of winning every year. Any fanbase would be the same. Shit, I’ve seen it the last few years with Clemson. If you aren’t winning by 50, you’re criticized for celebrating. Stadiums don’t stay as filled for the entirety of the game. And every coach should be fired.
 
Need to make a commercial of him watching 'Bama fans at work and criticizing every thing they do...kinda like that one with Peyton Manning a few years ago.

Alibamma needs a pro sports team. The Bama Bubbas. The gumptard fan base does nothing for the poor school...they just stink up the place and embarrass the SEC with too much $ for football and nothing else.

He's right. Some of the fans are absolutely ridiculous and hypercritical of the players. I think criticisms of the coaches is more than fair - looking at you Pete Golding and BOB.

I remember the days of being a young kid and teenager and losing to Tennessee and Auburn every year, the 90s and 00s weren't fun as a Bama fan. Saban came along and all that changed and I think at some point during this run every Bama fan has been guilty of unrealistic expectations, I know I have been.

Fortunately, I've learned to just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride because it will end eventually and part of the journey is the end.

I do feel bad for whatever coach/coaches tries to follow Saban, especially with the changing landscape of college football.
