Saban Rant

LOL... Yes sir, the hate is strong here.

I've been a Bama fan from conception. Congrats on your season. Keep pointing the finger!!! LOL

Your parents bandwagoned during the Bear Bryant years. Alabama fans are the Yankees fans of college football. Their fan base doesn't exist without a huge bandwagon movement and they're completely ignorant of the game outside of their program, and from the sounds of it, they don't know a hell of a lot about the team they supposedly are "life long fans" of.

I remember the transition well. Florida fans were talking of a dynasty and have 3 natties in 4 years, then after the 2009 SECCG, all those Florida fans instantly became Bama fans. It's gross.

Yeah... because no native Alabamian could have ever grown up being an Alabama Fan.... No way in hell. Why would they? Bear bryant who? Wade Wallace, Frank Thomas, bunch of losers!!! LOL

Maybe you should be more concerned with those wishy-washy Joja fans. LOL

Like I said, the only real fans in the state of Alabama are Auburn fans. Bama's entire fanbase is built on a gigantic bandwagon.

UGA fans aren't wishy washy, there's 93k in Athens on game day no matter how good or bad the team is, and we've proven we can take over a road stadium on the other side of the country for a matchup of two bad teams.

The moment Saban leaves Bama, 85% of the fanbase will jump ship to the next big ticket SEC team.

Keep going!!! you're on a roll!!! Comedy GOLD!!!

Going through Alabama about 20 years ago on the way to gulf shores to play golf.

Stopped at some tourist trap to buy fuel, drinks, take a leak. All 4 of us in line, gal cashier says "So who y'all for, alabama or auburn?"

I said don't know. She says YOU HAVE TO PICK A SIDE!

I said Who do you want me to be for?

She says WAR DAMN EAGLE

At the time I had no idea wtf she was even talking about.

To step off into a big pile of shit.....

I've got friends, nephews and cousins who are lifelong Alabama fans who complain about bandwagon fans too. But, I always try to reassure them, bandwagoners are a result of success and show the health of a program.

If you're say a drunken Georgia fan who is tired of being teased, tired of of always losing in the end (except since that year long, long ago) and having your dreams dashed and shit on and then having to make your program a carbon copy of one not so far away that you secretly or overtly despise, then come join up. Go buy yourself an Alabama hat, a t-shirt and a coffee mug. Cover your truck in A stickers. Buy tickets to the next home game. Good for you coming to your senses and joining the club. Your money spends just as good as us lifelong fans.

I feel like I missed something here.

My truck has A stickers on it, but it's for the Braves. I'd paint my walls with my brain with my 10 gauge before I'd become a Bama fan.

Auburn fans are very confused, it's okay

The most annoying thing about Bama fans is most of them are also Braves fans, so I'm forced to somewhat civilly interact with them during baseball season.

I did have a couple Bama fans convinced that my buddy(who to his credit has been a Bama fan for as long as I've known him and we met in kindergarten) was Nick Saban's grandson at game 6 of the NLCS.

You'll be right there with em, man.
Nope, I get pissed when they lose same as any other fan of any other team. Born and raised in Tennessee, grew up during the height of Tennessee's success. I remember being about 4 or 5, my dad - who went to Bama - was watching the TSIO on tv. I said "we want to Tennessee to win, right?" I wasn't smart, thinking I was from TN I thought I had to root for them. He said "no, we want Bama to win." From then on I was all about Bama.

Got a lot shit from kids at school growing up because Bama sucked and Tennessee had just won their NC. I saw Bama play their last games at Legion Field. I've seen them struggle to beat Duke. I witnessed them lose to ULM. I've seen one coach leave overnight for TAMU, another get fired before even coaching. And then the greatest run in CFB history. I'll be there till I die.

No one is denying that bandwagon fans exist. It comes with success, and when you have as much success as Bama as had you tend to have more bandwagon fans. Just watch, you'll see a lot more Braves fans next year who don't even know who the manager is.

I vote we don't let anyone on the Braves board that wasn't posting when we were losing 90 games a year.
