Honest question; not trying to troll. A couple of weeks ago the Texas A&M fans (and many other posters) were bragging about their $30,000,000 investment to get the highest ranked class in history. $30 Million. And they were saying Texas A&M can spend however much it needs to spend because the school is richer than 6" up a bull's ass. Now I'm seeing people swearing this is a bogus number that is not proved and Texas A&M can't be proved to have spent that much money. Or maybe they weren't crazy enough to spend that much money? Anyway, the story seems to have switched when Saban called Fisher out for checkbook recruiting. So why the big change in the story about how much the Aggies forked out for their last recruiting class?

Who was saying we spent $30m? Anyone on record or any shred of evidence other than some knob on the internet? $30m is the number bantered about because it is funny and we did spend big. Doubt it was anywhere near that amount though.

Without a doubt it is going to be in that ballpark. You signed more 5 star recruits in this last class than A&M has signed in like the last 10 classes combined.

You signed like 18 top 100 guys -- guarantee every one of them had their hand out when they saw A&M with the check book. And I'd bet the last 2 or 3 big signings cost them a pretty penny, especially Nolan and Stewart.
