If you go to ESPN look who is on the home page? It's SDSU. ESPN is promoting a mid-major at the moment on their homepage, making it feel like it is a big time program and a big time moment that they are promoting. Think about this. SDSU isn't even in the PAC (yet), but this is just ESPN flexing to FOX what they are capable of doing. Once these TV deals get into place and it's a full on rush to the finish line for who is going to the CFP, ESPN is going to be hyping and pushing their brands even more than what they are doing with SDSU at the moment.
It's all about marketing, branding, and getting attention. ESPN will do just that when it comes to November and the eyes of the committee are on the college football landscape. Just goes to show that I'd take ESPN in my corner when it comes to marketing and pushing my programs brand over FOX.
