Lane Kiffin was the only SEC head coach to weigh in publicly about the ongoing feud between Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher. But getting more from the Ole Miss coach is not possible because of a gag order instituted by Greg Sankey, the SEC commissioner.

Paul Pabst, a producer on “The Dan Patrick Show” revealed during the radio show on Friday morning that Kiffin was open to being on the show, but Sankey asked him, and other SEC coaches, to decline interview requests about the SEC West feud.

Kiffin would be one of the best guests to discuss this topic because of his history with Saban, but others will presumably be asked about the issue at upcoming events like the coaches meeting in Destin, Florida, and SEC Media Days in July in Atlanta. Kirby Smart, Billy Napier and, among assistants, Will Muschamp, will be the next popular targets for insight into Saban and Fisher.

Of course, Mike Leach would offer his customary wild card reaction.

Don't you know all of these guys are avoiding the press like crazy right now not wanting to get in the middle of this.

I just want to know if the phone call ever was answered.

Jimbo needs to cool down. They will talk but it’ll take them being in the same place at the same time to happen.

Jimbo is fine, he didn't start this. Saban needs to STFU

Sankey’s an asshole for denying us the opportunity to be entertained by the drama of this family feud. Who doesn’t like to observe a good old Hatfield/McCoy battle. And letting Kiffen and Leach join in would make it even better entertainment!

By God… it just means more in the SEC.
