GAME Scrub Night: Ohio St vs Minnesota

They are unable to cover man to man it appears. Lots of PI that wasn’t call last night because they are Ohio State. They will lose to someone they shouldn’t and the defense will be the reason.
I see Indiana, Penn St and Wisconsin(if both make CCG) as possibles. That, they all have weaknesses too.

but don't worry, when they do... "this loss is actually a good thing for the committee." - someone like Herbs

Weird how Ohio State fans think a dirty Ohio State hit is clean.

So you're saying similar defense to the previous 3-4 seasons at tOSU.

Buckeyes having elite edge rushing DEs covered up a lot of blemishes in their secondary play for a while now. Hopefully its something they can work on and improve as the year goes on or we probably will see 1-2 games where they struggle or lose vs teams they shouldn't.

I thought Tanner Morgan played an outstanding game. He was never locked into his first receiver, checked down, read the field well, and threw accurately.

Minny is just another Big 10 West team that will come out with disciplined slow play and beat a mistake ridden Nebraska who's QB can't read a field or throw an accurate pass.

I do agree Ohio St's got to clean up the PI issues. They got caught a few times, but got away with a lot more than that.

There's no question Ohio State got away with multiple PI's last night. But if you lumped all Buckeye fans into the same category that's very funny.

Elite offense helps to cover up flawed defenses. And vice versa.

Ohio State DBs play a very physical style. Always have and I suspect, always will.

It's one of their hallmarks. Also one of the reasons NFL teams love drafting tOSU DBs. There's usually never a question about whether they're willing to step up in the run game and deliver a hit. At some schools, DBs get a bad name for shying away from contact.

Not having Fields is going to hurt. Last couple seasons I basically expected them to get into the endzone on every possession.

Do you think that hit was clean?

I mean we were missing our top WR
I was hoping for an upset .. the team isn't bad.. just need a little more depth and I didn't realize you all were missing your wr

If Ohio State wants to compete for a chip this year they gotta lean on those running backs.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Stroud. He settled in the second half. I think we need to be a run first team, but can be pretty balanced

Was surprised targeting wasn't called. But it is funny you think all Ohio State fans thought it was a clean hit.

The Buckeyes will only go as far as their very questionable D takes them.

And our D was very questionable last year, and we beat Clemson.
