SDSU Not Leaving the Mountain West?

CBS will be desperate to sign a contract with the Big 12 once UConn joins

seriously though, lol @ UConn. They decided to leave the AAC for the Big East only to say "whoops, i guess football really does matter" in less than five years. clown school, clown state, clown region.
It’s just rumors going around Twitter but it makes absolutely no sense for a network to give a prorata rate for UConn or (more likely) B12 teams to take a cut for them. I’m hoping this is all a big nothing.

B12 looks like its doing this stupid thing. Rumors swirling UConn could be added this week. UConn

I mean we'll see if anything actually happens but those are some terrible football schools. I would have just sat at 12 if I was the Big 12.

one thing we have lost sight of is that conferences aren't going to add new members if those new members don't move the needle for their TV partners. Oklahoma, Texas and USC move the needle. That's why they were invited. ACC members aren't happy with the GOR but a problem that they're going to run into is that those schools aren't desirable.

Agree 100%, the only way any B12 President should agree to bring in Colorado is if Arizona is attached. I know they aren’t an impressive football program but the basketball is damn good and while it doesn’t kill the PAC it still puts a dent and uncertainty in PAC members minds.

But too add UConn with Colorado is a fucking joke. It does give credence to your point that anything can happen.

believed to be. but no evidence as such.
saw another that suggested Cal and Stanford due to not wanting to have another in state power 5.

i mean of all the schools talked about, Boise would prob be the only one of concern for Oregon
Man if you guys are worried about Boise then shut down the athletic department.

oregon is 0-3 all time vs Boise its the only G5 Oregon has a losing record against.

Auburn has an 0-3 vs SMU and 0-2 vs Rice as well as losing records against Tulane, Memphis, South Florida, and Army.

Chill with the shade

We aren't "worried" about any of the schools you listed and would laugh if they were added to the SEC.

I suggest you grow a pair.

It has more to do with the financial reality than being "scared" of anyone on the field.

Have to be. Why would UConn bother otherwise?
same reason anyone changes conferences or has sports programs to begin with, money and more of it.

The Big12 is investing in hoops, will it even the financial playing field with the Big2? No, but it will get em closer… at least that’s what they are banking on.

I can't imagine there's going to be enough money in hoops to make that move worth it. The last time UConn hoops was in a conference with no regional identity, it nearly killed the program. They're only going to make that move if their football program gets a spot IMO.

IMO it’s going to depend on how they package it in the future. It’s going to be interesting to see how the non P2’s create/generate better incomes.
Will they make more selling hoops to streaming services rather than traditional media outlets? We’ll see (looking at you too PAC12 that may be why it hasn’t folded yet) there is enough smoke to say that the Big12 definitely has their eyes on some strong basketball programs/schools and somebody somewhere is telling them that they can help them financially or they wouldn’t bother.

UConn (or any other school on “that level”)has to do whatever they can to try n keep up financially as well so if that means a partial membership then it has to happen.
