I feel the same way. He was considered the sexiest man alive til he was about 70. He lived to be 90 on his own island in the Bahamas. How much more can you really ask for?

Recency bias leads me to think of Eddie Van Halen. 65 feels cut short.

But 90 and a full life. RIP, sure. But it feels more like it should be celebrated and not lamented.

Eddie would be alive and healthy if not for decades of chain-smoking and alcoholism. I'm happy for him and his son that they had such a great relationship and that he apparently worked in the last year of his life to mend some bridges that he'd burned. What a crazy life!

After their big success he decided to throw in on a league of extraordinary gentlemen thinking this was the big one.
