SEC Basketball

@outofyourmind @Wishbone .. I thought OU had a decent basketball team? Or not this year.. I really don't know but we are kinda beating the brakes off y'all..
I haven't watched 15 minutes of college basketball. I checked out of this thread weeks ago but I know our coach is probably on his way to being fired.

@fordman84

I’m not sure anyone was beating Mississippi State last night. They had like 3 guys in the zone that could throw it up from anywhere and drain it. Then every single bad bounce fell into their lap.

State caught lightning in a bottle and you guys just got unlucky you were the opposing team.

Agree, not too torn up about it. I am concerned we had 19 turnovers. Great defense by them is part of it, carelessness was ours. But this is the good time in a season to lose a game to get refocused. All I've been reading is about "A&M's highest ranking in nearly a decade" as if that matters unless you can stay up there. Need to get our act together and hang on to a 2 seed if possible, latest Lunardi had a good bracket for us.

Everyone is drumming OU right now.
They look like a team that was trying really hard and still not having success early in SEC play, might be giving up at this point. They still look like they want to win, but don't have that extra hunger to fight to the last few minutes.

However I saw that their fans stormed the court after, so that's exciting for Aggies.

Gotcha.. I gave only kept up with Fl Auburn and Bama since mid January. I knew if our team ever gelled the way I hope it would.. we were definitely in final 4 contention.. they are super close to that goal.. but I haven't kept up with anyone else and idk why but thought OU was supposed to be decent to pretty good..

If Florida stays healthy I would say they are the favorites to win the SEC Tournament right now. They peaked later so have momentum plus Auburn and Alabama both have extremely hard finishing stretches and I don't see either team being fired up about the extra games in the tournament when they can win only one game and most likely keep their seeding.

Talent for AU, UA and FL is there, coaching is there and execution for the most part is there so its going to come down to rest and health.

💯 agree.. I will say that when we have had injuries others have stepped up and filled the gap.. hopefully this will continue on through out until the last game is played.

Same here but to win it all a team needs to have all the pieces healthy because it's a gauntlet. We missed out on one National Championship because we lost a player in the sweet 16 game. If Chuma Okeke doesn't get hurt we would have won it all the margins were that slim.

My SEC Predictions:

National Title Good:
1. Alabama-Loaded Roster 1-13

F4 Good:
2. Arkansas-Rejuvenated Cal
3. Ole Miss-Beard Year 2 +Mark Adams D
4. Tennessee-Rick Barnes D

2nd weekend Good:
5. Auburn
6. Florida
7. Kentucky
8. Texas A&M

NCAA Tournament:
9. Texas
10.Mississippi State

Bubble/NIT:
11. Mizzou
12. Georgia
13. South Carolina
14. Oklahoma

Awful:
15. Vandy
16. LSU
It’s just crazy how accurate this analysis was.

Mizzou puts 110 on #4 Bama, Mizzou now 9-4 in SEC, 20-6 overall

To be fair though, that was back in November.
Don't take up for the asshat that crowned his own team the conference champ and national title contender while putting the rest of the league in categories beneath his. The kind of arrogance those idiots throw around in football related threads should not be rewarded in basketball threads because he literally has no history to back his stupidity up.

Anyone with half a brain knows the league is unpredictable and preseason doesn't mean shit. Mofo needs some humility.

Seriously betting Bama games is so fun.

I put a boatload on the over

I spent literally 0 seconds of that game sweating it.

Georgia beats Florida and Oklahoma State beats Iowa State. WTH? Gotta love 18-23 year olds!

As someone who has just this year started casually following roundball, where does last night rank for all time UGA roundball wins?

Announcers said last night it was their first win against a top 5 team in over 20 years and they had to win that one to have any shot at making the tournament

Without looking anything up, I'd have to say it's the biggest win since UGA won the 2008 SEC Tournament. Prior to that would have to be the 1996 NCAa Tournament when they knocked off #1 seed Purdue in the R32

I remember the 2008 tournament win. My best friend at the time was down there with his brother and dad when the tornado hit downtown Atlanta. They were able to limp the Buick back home, but the insurance totaled it. Roof was smashed in and all glass broken
