So, just curious as I was looking back at previous rankings on other sites. In 2014, LSU, Texas A&M, and Auburn all finished 8-5. Notre Dame did also. I only include them because they beat LSU in the bowl game. If you were to do a top 25, and if these teams made your top 25, how would you rank them because:
Texas A&M beat Auburn
LSU beat Texas A&M
Auburn beat LSU
Notre Dame beat LSU

Maybe teams that finished 8-5 wouldn't make your top 25 but they did have some of the toughest schedules that season.

I would have to go back and study 2014 which I shouldn't. Top 25 is more about record and whether a team deserves it or not. Often, I struggle to put teams in the bottom half of top 25 because all of those teams are flawed. Sometimes teams make the top 25 just because other teams are not in the mix.

I’d rather not. 2014 was the year that Richt’s annual choke jobs against Florida and South Carolina cost us the East to a team we beat 34-0 in their house

I was just doing my computer poll for that season to see how close it came out to others. It has Auburn at #22, LSU at #25, Texas A&M at #26, and Notre Dame a #29.

Yeah, it has Ohio State #1, Florida State #2, Oregon #3, Alabama #4, TCU #5.
FSU fell to 5th in the final rankings.
1. OSU
2. Oregon
3. TCU
4. Alabama
5. Michigan State/FSU tie

The only good thing about 2014 was watching Nick Chubb run all over Louisville’s “excellent run defense” after Todd Grantham left UGA for there taking several players with him in the Belk Bowl

Auburn one and I'd leave the others out.
