SEC scheduling is starting to come info focus per inside sources ...

Tennessee is considered over of the toughest teams in the SEC now? I think I'd want to see them string together a couple more good seasons first.

Complaining about a team that just broke a 15 game losing streak against you.

I really am agnostic on the OU v. UF thing other than distance. I think part of the process was to try and have the 3 permanent fairly close geographically to drive up the intensity. But, having UF and OU play every year is cool.
That was the a really odd one. There is just no connection there, but there had to be one.

Bcs/stoops history...
Its 2 games in the history of the program and 1 assistant coach. That isn’t history. You can connect any team, if that is your bar.

Did you not say "no connection"? And then you want to argue the strength of the connection presented...ok

PODS haven't been discussed for well over a year. The ACC has already implemented the permanent rival concept, and it's clear the SEC and the B1G will soon do the same.
Are they trying to “create” some “permanent” rivals? Historically, I don’t ever remember A&M considering Miss State a “tival”. Or OU having a rivalry with Florida.

*rival

i think the league takes LSU off Bama and adds Ole Miss instead FWIW

No reason to do that, they did a pretty good job with this I think

Going back on South Carolina and Kentucky, that setup makes no sense.

South Carolina is a traditional rival with Georgia (at least since 1992) and Kentucky is a long-time historical rival of Tennessee. They should switch it.

Also, @Wild Turkey and others, Kentucky and South Carolina are pretty even, it isn't a complaint to get an easier vs. harder schedule to me, it is about rivalries which is why I would have Florida over South Carolina as well.

In fact, Kentucky has more all-time wins and in a lot of rankings, is actually ahead of South Carolina historically:

I do have a funny theory that Tennessee may have actually wanted South Carolina though because we have historically recruiting that region heavily. Similar to Oklahoma probably wanting Florida.

I'm with you here. I mean, I'm pretty tired of getting clobbered by Georgia, but that, to me, is a no-brainer rivalry game, and UK-Tenn is another no-brainer.

I mean, we'll just get clobbered every other year now instead, but those pairings don't make sense.

Overall, I don't really have any complaints about this arrangement. No way to make everybody happy, just do the best you can.

Saban can STFU, though. virtually nobody in the country feels sorry for them if these are their perms.

The one positive is my manager is a Gamecock fan so that keeps things interesting and the UT-South Carolina series has been very competitive. I mean, I am probably more upset about losing UK-Tennessee than I am keeping South Carolina.

I do like the 3-6-6 so we can play teams in the SEC West and OU/Texas often but I hate losing the tradition.

I'm surprised you didn't get Florida. I thought Tenn would get Bama, Florida and Vandy but I think they threw a bone to Oklahoma for taking Mizzou by giving them Florida (which is a nice get for recruiting purposes) and they couldn't give Florida: UGA, OU and Tenn. So I think SC is a compromise that we all knew was going to happen.

On paper, SC is historically better than UK and they had to try to at least seem balanced when you had Bama getting Auburn, Tenn & LSU, Auburn getting both Bama & UGA. I think Texas got a tough draw with OU, aTm and Arkansas because the razorbacks are always going to make that their biggest game of the year and for Texas it is just another game that is just dangerous.

I'm fine with our draw and its not like the SEC could have made our schedule any harder. I love that the Bammers are bitching because its about time they stepped up to the plate and stopped dodging teams like UGA and Florida.

You need to settle down and start focusing on Arkansas because you are now officially their biggest game of the year and you will get their best performance every time you play and we both know that will be a tough one for UT to get up for so its a trap game every season.

yeah.. i know..told my friend that flew from VA about how big it is for them..he didn't believe me..probably like the entire football team.. But once we arrived in our SUV.. horns down everywhere in that town..

they also recognized every monumental player/team in their history every single commercial break.. so yes I know :(

They’ve literally got nobody to be mad at so they try and invent grudges. You are a Godsend to them.
