This will be the 4th time Kirby Smart has faced his old boss, and he's 0-3 in the first 3 meetings despite having the lead at halftime in all 3 games

Bama has played a tougher schedule, but hasn't looked as good as UGA, especially when it comes to common opponents.

Both blew out Tennessee, but Bama struggled against Auburn, Florida and Arkansas, while UGA beat all 3 easily.

The focus on UGA is rightfully on their defense, but the offense is also a bit underrated IMO, yeah they had the slow start to the year against Clemson, but since then they haven't scored fewer than 30, and are averaging over 40 points per game, and that's with the wrong QB playing(I've just come to accept that as long as Kirby is HC, the best QB on the roster won't be who is playing. Grayson Lambert started over Eason, Eason started over Fromm, Fromm started over Fields and now Bennett is starting over Daniels). George Pickens also made his return against GT, and should play a bigger role in the SECCG.

As of an hour ago, UGA was a 6 point favorite in the game, which moved from a 4 point favorite overnight.

I think UGA is the better team this year, but like I've said, I'll believe we beat Bama when we beat Bama.

They need to take some lessons from the Braves about burying demons from the recent past.

I am going to the game this weekend :).

This seems like their best chance with the way UGA has played this year. I heard some talking head (whose name I'm not gonna mention) state that Bama is playing the 1985 Chicago Bear's defense in this CCG.

Bama's D has been exposed on many occasions and Smart better be able to exploit that aspect, if he wants the Saban/Bama Monkey off his back.

Gonna be interesting to see if UGA's front 7 can beat down on a lackluster Bama Oline, this game.

This is one of the rare times over the last decade that Bama is a clear underdog and not many think Bama can win. Frankly, based on the play of both teams, there isn’t much reason to think Bama can win. That said, I expect Bama to win, just because that is what Bama does

My dad has been season ticket holders since 1990s and we rarely go. We typically just sell them (you can typically make a lot out of selling them). I am actually on the wait list.

We decided to just go with a group this year.

Neither, just want a good game experience lol.

The last time that I went to Atlanta was in 2004 when Tennessee played Auburn. I could not make 2007 because I had to prepare for Final Exams (I was in Grad School at the time).

I was also there for the 1997 and 1998 games.

We've got too many issues and UGA certainly appears to be the most complete team in CFB. On any given Saturday our secondary &/or oline can completely fail. As we've seen, when the latter happens our high powered offense can't put points on the board. I sort of dread seeing what UGAs LBs and blitzes can do to our oline.

I'd expect UGA to go into Saturday 7.5 point favorites and very likely to cover. This seems like their year and the best chance Kirby Smart has gotten to win a Natty.

(Side Note: If Pete Golding is dumped we're gonna try to take Glenn Schumann back from y'all.)

That’s fair

I’ve never been to a conference champ game. It’s mostly my teams doing….

Yeah, that is the reason that I haven't been in a while as well. Back in the 1990s, I had a group of family members that went every year (I was a kid then so I didn't go until 1997).

The 1997 game was the most memorable because there was these two big Tennessee fans with overalls in front of me and they would shout "Give the Ball to Jamal" referencing Jamal Lewis lol.

They would also chant "Pass to Nash" reference a good WR named Marcus Nash.

I'm looking for Dan Lanning to get a HC job, and if he does, Schumann would be the next DC(he's already co-DC), but we have some damn good assistant coaches, especially on defense.

Georgia's defense and Kirby should be licking their chops to face this Bama o-line. Line up your best pass rusher on the RT and let him win the one-on-one battle with Bama's RT then overload the rest of the line with blitzes.

UGA's secondary is good enough to contain Bama's WRs, this isn't the same group from the past few years. Auburn, Arky and ATM showed how vulnerable Bama's o-line is, and as good as Bryce has been he can't do it if he has no protection.

BOB has 0 imagination calling plays and scheming matchups.

I think Bama's defense matches up decently with UGA's offense, but Pete Golding is still DC so there's that.

All in all, I expect UGA to win and cover. As others have said this is their best shot at a NC and their best shot to beat Saban and Bama. That being said, this Bama team doesn't quit and this may be the one time Saban has them read their press clippings.

UGA 31
Bama 20

But with a New OC and DC next year with All we got returning we will be back in 2022

Agree with a lot that has already been stated. Saban already lost to one former assistant this season. Bama has looked lost in a few games with them falling for plays they would usually sniff out. This is the best chance for UGA. I feel Kirby knows it and the players know it. Saban is Saban and he might surprise us with some tricks.

I don't normally drink a lot of alcohol, but I will have a more-than-sufficient amount on-hand for this upcoming contest.

I had tickets from 1996-2000. I enjoyed the 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 games, but I was damed if I was going to see Auburn play Florida in 2000! lol. So, I gave them up. I don't regret that, as I have no desire to attend any longer, but that would have been quite the money maker with the advent of StubHub, etc.
