Seems like everyday there are more people I know that have had, or currently have the virus.

It seems like every time I talk to anyone, they either have it, in their house, or have already been through it. No one in my immediate family has had it. Feel like we have been very lucky all things considered. Is it the same for you guys?
 
one of my best pals' Mom had it about 3 weeks ago, she was in a bad way. had to be in ICU for about 10 days, and then in rehab for another week or so. Last I heard, she was doing much better at home. My sis-in-law tested positive over Christmas, but as far as I remember hearing, no symptoms or anything.
 
Blended family here. All of the Mrs genetic side (and ex husband and his wife) had it in Nov. My girls and I never had an inkling of anything.

I have a theory in my mind that there are certain genetic aspects of whole families that make it either a family annihilator or nothing. I remember there was an Italian family in NJ last spring where all of them had it bad and few died.

No one in my blood family has had anything, even with confirmed infections around us/in the same house.

I have been hearing that people with A type blood are more adversely affected than others, but I have no idea how accurate that is.

Some studies have shown both incidence of symptoms and severity are higher in A (and maybe AB) blood. O type is showing lower incidence of symptoms and severity. A lot of asymptomatic is O.

From what I’ve read the data is significant in numbers studied, but not so much that anyone is sounding an alarm that could backfire on us.

I’m holding on to this being a thing and that’s how the girls and I got away. We didn’t isolate the sick or anything. And our autistic son had it (he has no clue about covering his mouth with sneezes and coughs) so it’s been telling.

I feel like if I were tested a few weeks after it went through the house I would have antibodies. But, short of confirmation I’m not betting my future health or life on this.

Several real estate agents and their families I know. Some close friends, and their house holds. Went through my wifes office, but she never got sick. She actually got her first immunization over the weekend.
 
A few of my wife's cousins had it. One of her more distant relatives (3rd aunt or something) died from it a few months ago.

No cases that I know of on my side of the family.
 
Not really unless no one is telling us. Couple cousins a few months ago, my roommate through college, a co-worker during the fall and some past associates at varying times during this whole thing who posted about it on Twitter. Spread over the course of 10 months it feels like not a lot of people.

your wife got the vaccine? How so quick?
 
My Dad got his Moderna shot today in his facility.

I know of nobody who has it.

But we live in Canada's New Zealand and have been relatively far from the storm. Cases rising but you don't trip over them.

My wife has been immunized for a couple weeks now (completely, finished with the 2nd injection as well).
 
Despite living in one of the hardest hit areas, I don't know too many people who have had a confirmed case. We know of about 3- 4 people in our church who have tested positive, one of which was ventilated for several weeks but survived. One of my co-workers had an outbreak in their family but nothing severe.

Personally, I think I had it last March but I never got tested and it was pretty much over in a day or two. I'm O-positive if we're keeping score
 
Yup. Thankfully, no one in my immediate family has had it yet, but some of my extended family have and numerous coworkers and friends have.
 
Couple buddies have had it. Wifes uncle died from it. Neighbors mom died from it. Nothing in my immediate family that I know of although in Feb my 5 year old son was crazy sick for like 3 weeks but tested negative for the flu so it's possible he had it then
 
Should add that it is currently first going to health care and extended health facilities as well as 1st Nations bands.

Then "essential workers", etc.

I'm somewhere on the list.

There are threads out there. But, no one wants to say there is something to it. I’m sure it’s being studied and will be announced soon enough, but it would be nice to know it sooner too.
