Seems like everyday there are more people I know that have had, or currently have the virus.

I have been hearing that people with A type blood are more adversely affected than others, but I have no idea how accurate that is.

Seems to be accurate imo. And its sad we don't know by now for sure

Tons of employees. Several have lost family members to it. And old neighbor of mine died from it. I couldn't give a count but its been quite a few.

Only people I know personally who had it were my 90 year old great uncle and his wife.

It's not really an exaggeration to say my uncle has never been to the hospital in his life. Just good genes I guess. But this fucked him up pretty bad. Sounds like he's recovered and doing fine right now. My aunt was fine though. Just minor symptoms.

Other than that just my dad had really bad pneumonia like 8 months ago but tested negative. Nobody else I know or work with has even gotten obviously sick to my knowledge.

But now that I say this, I'm probably getting it tomorrow.

My brother had it and I’ve had cousins have it. Nobody I’m close to has been hospitalized. I haven’t missed a day of work other than a planned vacation since the pandemic started

Nobody in my house.
One of my nephew's in Omaha had it in early December. Low grade fever, body aches, and mild diarrhea for several days. The fatigue is what lasted the longest. He says he still doesn't feel quite 100%.
My Dad has lost 2 cousins to it, both in their 60s. And another cousin who lost her husband.
My little BiL's sister in NYC had it back in May. Nearly went to the hospital but ended up weathering it in her apartment. Was pretty bad off for 3+ weeks. Friends and Coworkers brought her groceries, meds, etc.
A coworker had an extended family super spreader birthday party back in the Fall. She and her household family elected not to go. I think she said 11 people ended up positive. 2 aunts and 1 uncle died (which I think is all of my coworker's Mom's siblings).
Another coworker and his whole household had it. Nothing severe. Again fatigue was the most lingering.
I think those are the closest cases to me I can recall.

Despite living in one of the hardest hit areas, I don't know too many people who have had a confirmed case. We know of about 3- 4 people in our church who have tested positive, one of which was ventilated for several weeks but survived. One of my co-workers had an outbreak in their family but nothing severe.

Personally, I think I had it last March but I never got tested and it was pretty much over in a day or two. I'm O-positive if we're keeping score
I had one day of feeling like a pretty decent flu bug hit, but then it was just low grade fever, body aches and mild headaches for about a week. The fatigue was the worst part and that lasted two weeks, easily. I, too am O+.

Duh? We've had it here for a year now. Obviously if you don't know several people that have had it, you're a hermit.

I just experienced my first death in my circle a couple of weeks ago. Coworkers wife.

Fuck covid

I think I may have around then too. My mom, sister, both of her in-law parents and I all got sick around that time with symptoms that sounded like it could've been Covid. Part of me almost hopes that was it because no one's had any issues since then and I think you're a lot less likely to catch it a second time.

I only knew of one other person back then who had it, because they lost their sense of smell for a couple weeks. That never happened to me, but I had some of the other symptoms: a spiking fever, stomach cramps, chills, massive headache, and body ache. But it didn't feel like a Flu bug.

Yeah those were the symptoms I had too. I thought it was odd because I'll get those bugs sometimes but it won't last for more than a day or two but that time I was down for at least week.

I heard that if you donate blood, they test for the antibodies, but I don't know how long those stay in your system. I was thinking about doing it, but I hate needles.

I won't be donating any blood. It makes me pass out.

I also don't care for needles unless I absolutely have to get a stick. It's been maddening watching the news for the past two weeks because it's non-stop stock footage of people getting inoculations. I yelled at the TV one night and my family was all like "WTH, dad???"

Almost the same... as soon as a smell the alcohol, I start feeling flushed and woozy. Plus, I'm often anemic, so they won't take my blood anyway. And as for the coverage of people getting pricked - I have to cover my eyes

Everyone I've known, but one, have had a mild case. My brother had zero symptoms but popped positive on a routine test from work. The other few people had loss of taste/smell.

The one guy that didn't have a mild case is dead. He was early 50s, federal agent, left a wife and two teenage sons.

Sorry to hear about that.

He's still in the hospital on oxygen. Been about 40 days, I think.
That can't be good. I've been on a ventilator. They are not good. If you need a vent...you may not make it. The longer you stay on them the worse your chances become.
