So...

A couple weeks ago, we (my company, spearheaded by me) fully upgraded the fire & security system in one of our older buildings to the latest hardware now that analog line regulations have been lifted here.

Last week, I received a fire alarm call from the security company after 6pm to the newly upgraded building. Firefighters get automatically and immediately dispatched on fire alarms - before they call the client company (me). Skip ahead, it was a false alarm.

Yesterday at 5am, I received another fire alarm call from the security company. Firefighters dispatched. Another false alarm.

So as soon as I got to work yesterday I ran an internal investigation then called the security company to send a technician out to review the security system with me. The technician arrived first thing this morning. Turns out, the technician who installed the new sensors configured our door sensors as fire sensors and the incompetent lazy bastard lied that he fully tested the system when he "completed" the job.

I'm not the corporate CFO, but I'm thinking we will be attempting to relay those fire dispatch bills to the security company.

Taking my sweet old time on some files. Trying to avoid getting others files passed on to me. Last time that happened, their errors got passed over to me. Instead of my pointing them out for training purposes, it was me getting an earful for not just fixing them & helping the team. Yet if it would be the other way around, I doubt the others would get scolded. So now I'm doing just what I need. Going above & beyond is just more work for the same pay.

Lawsuit..

Make that company fully pay the fire department bill and the rewiring at no cost

I don't know exactly because that's not my department, but I'm pretty sure it's several hundred dollars each dispatch.

It'd cost more to get lawyers involved than to simply pay the bills if it comes to that. I'm sure we'll try the 'gentlemanly' way of handling it first.

Atleast 3/4 of his wealth
I know he lost some money on that Nikola electric truck company...I don't remember where he stood on NFCs and bitcoin

anyone going to invest in that new Billionaire's dumb idea to put another submarine in to say the other one should have been safer?
