I am not trolling here. But just looking at some things before the season starts in less than three weeks.

Based on media, polls, etc. what are some things that the media is high on that you think have a very slim chance of happening and why?

I know I ranked Clemson high in my preseason ranking. I just don't see it now. As bad as DJ was last year, Venables is gone from defensive coordinator, and the ACC might not be strong enough for Clemson to get in with a loss in the ACC.

I need to see more out of shit out of Clemson before I'm not going to think they can gut that out on talent alone...but I drafted DJ in the second round last year, so what do I know.

Same goes for USC, but in reverse. I know they have the weapons to score, but none of those weapons play defense. Shane Lee was a good pickup for them, but one linebacker isn't enough on a team that gave up 50 TD's last year. They lost 5 games last year scoring 26 or more points...the average score of those 5 losses...45-29. They could have scored 41 points in each of those games and still gone 1-4.

There has been some turnover and some solid talent has been brought in. But it's impossible to address everything that needed to be addressed in 1 off-season. They have brought in some good defensive talent, but not enough to get turned around in 1 off-season. The starters on defense should be okay for the most part...but they are thin behind the starters...so if they get a couple of guys injured or that don't meet expectations, they'll be in trouble.

They should be good enough offensively to beat just about anyone on their schedule and with a little luck, might even be able to slip into the cfp...but they just aren't going to be good enough on defense to beat teams like Bama, Georgia, Clemson, etc.

Kentucky's QB Will Levis as a first round draft pick?

Yeah, not buying it

Rattler sucked at OU, with better offensive weapons against worst defense. Now he is going to go to a team with fewer offensive weapons, against way better D and he's suddenly going to be good again?

NC State seems like a team that will crash and burn with actual preseason expectations weighing on them.

Yeah, I feel like a lot of the ACC teams will fall off. The thing about the ACC upper level teams (if you want to call them that) is they lose the games they shouldn't. Especially losing the in conference games they shouldn't and more than should. I just don't feel like this happens in the other "better" conferences. Bama loses a game to a team they might not should have, but then go on a tear and rip through the remaining schedule and get in the CFP with a loss. Same with the Buckeyes. And others. I feel the upper ACC team(s) lose a game they shouldn't, but the team(s) can't or don't rip through the rest of the schedule. Like Clemson loses to Boston College and then loses to Miami equals out of playoff. Ohio State is undefeated and then loses at Penn State and then drills everyone else on the schedule and wins the B1G and this equals playoff. I just feel like the ACC doesn't "take care of business" when the preseason has this many ACC teams ranked preseason. Wake Forest couldn't stop a kid on a tricycle last season and Clemson had very little offense. Outside of beating Wake last season, Clemson didn't beat a team that won more than 7 games. We saw what happened with UNC last season from preseason to end of season. I would not be at all shocked if Wake and NC State were out of the top 25 at end of this season.

He is going to be playing against better defenses. If he struggled at OU playing Kansas State it’s going to get ugly.

How dare you besmirch the reigning September Heisman winner.

Oh, he's throwing it into triple coverage and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Also, he will wait way too long to take off running from the pocket and gets tackled most of the time.
and when he does take off, it's like his feet are in concrete.

Hope that helps

Tennessee being touted as a 10+ game winner and perhaps even a threat to win the east ect. ect.

Obviously myself as well America wants and needs that to happen and it would be fantastic for decent people all over this great land but..
UT is still in transition under JH, a lot of solid players leaving/coming in ect. so it’s gonna be another year or so before those seasons start happening but the media loves hyping up fanbases like UT as well as others (Texas, Auburn, Georgia, Notre Dame come to mind) when they know full well that those teams are probably not quite there yet so they can get get clicks and sell magazines ect. So… is what it is.

Michigan State at 14 seems high
Unless Kenneth Walker III shows up in a mustache as Kelvin Walker IV, we are wildly over rated. This team was straight garbage last year when he didn’t show up and only slightly better when he did. The ceiling is realistically around 8-4.

Well, with the current injury to Hartman at Wake, I say they win maybe three games this season. I could have waited just a few more days to do my top 25 preseason deal.

USC attracting alot of money on futures bets. I like doing futures bets in Reno before the season starts. Had good luck in the past toggling Alabama and Clemson right each year...back when I could get Alabama at 5 to 1. Not anymore. But $100 futures bet on USC at 25 to 1 could be fun especially if they get into CFP.
