I stayed away from zipper boots because I don't trust the claim of waterproofing.

Theres a thick piece of material underneath the zipper that hugs your ankle. The zipper is kind of on the outside if that makes sense. Never had a problem w them.

I like them because they are snug and light. Not clunky like some boots. They never come loose.

I have a pair too. They are easy on easy off. The opposite of the black ones. I’ll wear my old man boots for shoveling the walk in my sweats but if I need to do anything serious it’s the snug ones.
