I feel your pain, the $2k in student loan debt I graduated with was a killer to pay off...

I actually got screwed the first few months. I should have checked on it, but I thought my autopay would still keep going. But nope. A few months until I realized they automatically put a hold on it. I just went back and paid what I usually would be for that time frame. If I could, I'd be putting down more, but gotta save up for a house eventually.
I was deciding between the two a few years ago - pay off my loans or down payment. Went with loans.

Mr. Kobe got himself a small blow torch for a project he’s working on. He’s having way too much fun with it. Including torching the ice off the driveway.

Fuck. He has our entire garage used up by various saw tables. Last night he said he thinks he wants a planer. Whatever the fuck that is. As long as I get my garage space back for my car and free of saws and hockey nets, I’ll be happy.
I wish I had the tools and knew how to build stuff.

I want to make a cargo box with drawers for the back of my SUV. Maybe like 7-8" high that would take up the back area and then I could still have the whole "floor space" to put things on, it would just be above the cargo box. I've got some cool ideas, but I have no idea how to make them.

Thats definitely the smarter financial decision

Think it depends on your interest rates, and housing market.

But I spoke with a financial advisor about it before making the decision. He suggested that.

But honestly, up until a couple years ago, I was shit about saving/planning.

That's part of the fun.

The last time I used a table saw i was in high school.

Fuck all that noise

Yeah, I could see that, but I want it to look professional and I have no idea how much time/money I'd need to invest in order to make it happen.

Unfortunately the housing market here has really shot up the last few years. Still cheaper than a lot of areas of the country. But I'm kinda hoping there is a minor downturn in the market somewhat shortly.

Those were my thoughts at the time, here in Columbus....4 ish years ago

Mr. Kobe has turned into a pretty good craftsman. Didn't expect that when we got married. He's currently working on a "river table" to house our modem/cable box/sound system/etc.

A desk and a bed frame are next.

Mr. Kobe cut the tip of his finger off in high school on a table saw. No major accidents yet over the past few years he's gotten into woodworking.
