So what is the latest news on the OU and Texas to SEC situation?

It’s not embarrassing. It’s your rightful place to sit with your hat in hand and wait. Y’all only have one team that has TX and OU’s stature in cfb history, and that one team barely has earned it in the last decade. Sit down on the hallway bench and know your role.
Since Texas won its last NC, 5 different SEC teams have won 12 NCs. If we had gone to a 12 team CFP instead of 4, Texas still wouldn’t have had a single CFP appearance … not wins, appearances. We don’t care what you did 60 years ago. Back to the kiddies table for you and let the adults talk.

Yall are arguing over nothing. In five years, there’s going to be a completely new landscape. All this conference shit will be meaningless.
Need to move ahead NOW with the “ Superconferences” instead of bleeding the other three out slowly. It is in humane to wait five years. “ They shoot horses don’t they.”

Using @ELTEXAN logic, Yale is the greatest College Football Superpower of all-time.

After seeing ElTexan's recent post, I would like to retract any reference to helping OU and Texas get into the SEC.

Haha thanks. I won't lie, I am looking forward to Tennessee playing both teams and also really breaking up the East Division. Things were getting stale and a new setup might help Tennessee for several reasons that would take pages to explain.

I’m looking forward to UTN playing TX and the network technicians breaking their necks trying to color balance the broadcast stream.

LOL

"See you in 2025" is NOT rolling out any carpet of any color. That's a dirt road at best.

.. and lets not forget they (BiG) voted against you keeping your AAU status.. meanwhile UT voted for you to keep it lol.

The Big 10 didn't allow anyone to play OOC during covid. Not sure how any of that applies to anything.

Beginning in 2025 we'll be reading lots of stories regarding tejas and their manipulative ways brought into the SEC.

Let the countdown begin.

If Nebraska had done that they'd be looking for a home now.

tejas was actively seeking to join the PAC when Nebraska bolted, now tejas is joining the SEC.
Again.... tejas are manipulators and always have two fingers crossed behind their back when negotiating.

Nebraska did the right thing in being pro-active and leaving an unsecure Big 12.
The Big 10 covid rule of no OOC applied to everybody, not just Nebraska.

wait..you are nebraska ANYONE would take you on your own

don't sell yourself short

I have a hunch OU will be sitting down at the SEC conference table and saying "OK, boys, how do we normally do that?" and Texas will be inclined to sit down at the SEC conference table and say "Listen up, we've got few things we'd like to talk about". I could be wrong but I won't be surprised if the animosity toward Oklahoma will be pretty minimal and if there is any friction it will be between the Old Guard and Texas. I'm not saying there won't be rivalries developed with Oklahoma but I think Joe Castiglione is the kind of guy who can smile and go along to get along while still protecting OU's interests. I'll have to see it to believe it with Texas.
