Seems like they are starting to turn into a major basketball power. The check all of the boxes for the Big East:

1. Have a National Title
2. Small Catholic School with primary sport focused on Basketball
3. Recent Cinderella run
4. In the midwest region close to Butler, Marquette, etc.

They'd fit right in with the Big East. They'd also be fodder for UConn women's team. Men and Women alike though could make a great rivalry with DePaul.

It would a huge mistake for them to make that move as they would struggle to even make the tournament. Trust me I watch 80% of their games and the Ramblers are my number 2 team but that would be too big of a bite for them.

THe BE would never do it anyways.

Would be an awful move for the league.

The Big East doesn't need any more former mid-majors.

They might consider Syracuse, but that aint happening

Butler and Creighton did it and seem fine.

Chicago is a city in decline and provides zero value

having one team from Chicago is bad enough. do you really want two?

Great point, they already have DePaul. I kind of forget Depaul even exists because they haven't done anything in decades.

Wake Forest ended DePaul's entire program in 1984. Muggsy Bogues retired Ray Mayer's ass and they have never been the same. They were a powerhouse until they ran into the Deacs.

Wake Forest is one of those programs that hasn't done much in Basketball in a while as well. I was hoping they would have made the tournament this year.

tell me about it bro. bad OOC schedule + bad ACC meant that Wake had very little margin in error when it came to Q1 games. Shitty luck, tbh.

i had season tickets. only good thing about the NIT is that i get to attend the games in-person
