So why was Texas a top 10 team?

I know Tennessee has had some bad years in the last 15 years but at least we have never lost to a hot garbage team on the level of Kansas. Even that Georgia State team we lost to made a bowl game.
 
Texas shouldn't feel too bad about losing to TCU. TCU is one of those teams that you have to respect. As long as they have Gary Patterson, they will be a contender/tough out.

That reminds me of the Tennessee Titans. If you look at their schedule last year, they beat some of the best teams on their schedule and lost to the worse teams on their schedule record-wise.

we have a good team.. just a bad coach.. he didn't settle anyone down in the beginning and why he went uptempo on 1st and Goal with over 2 min? Have no idea.. But this is just a slight stepback.. we'll be back in the top 10 in a few weeks

No one in the Big12 belongs in the top 10 right now. Oklahoma State would be the closest contender and they struggled against Tulsa.

Yeah pretty much, and Texas still almost blew it. Glad we were able to see Ellingher do that post game interview though. Shit is gold.
