I just don't understand how a school like a Texas -- in that state with so many blue chips in their backyard, with all the resources they have...can be that bad?

Nebraska has barely been ranked if actually ranked for years. I can’t even remember last time Nebraska has Top 10 preseason.

Texas is constantly ranked higher. Pretty sure this is 2nd straight year Texas ranked top 10, last year they went 7-5 regular season. Even after underachieving, they still get ranked top 10 This year

I'm in Nebraska territory so I follow them somewhat. Have a lot of friends who are big fans. Maybe it hasn't been the case the last few years but it seemed like for a long while they'd start ranked in the teens and be out by the end of the year.

Looking at schedules, I'm confident that Texas will finish with a better record than Tennessee. Any non brain dead football fan can admit that.

You're probably right, but only because the Big 12 sucks. Texas isn't beating UGA, Bama, Auburn and UF either. When the rankings come out I would be surprised if there's more than 1 ranked opponent left on the schedule.
