This would sting alot if it came from a fan of a team who has actually made the CFP. Maybe Texas will be back in 2021?

it's coming from a guy who's seen his team play in two title games within the last 15 years.. yeah we suck.. but it could be worse.. But let me get out of here.. I'm actually an Ian fan and have ND beating Miami.. think they have a good shot at being an at large #4 spot team when it's all said and done. Alright I gotta go now..McD's is kicking me out for hogging the wifi now too.. if only i could have been an aggy :(

Nah college wasn't for me my man.. My brother got his CPA there though, and growing up in Austin.. still partied at the frat parties.. til I went to the Marines. Just wish Walmart sold dryfit polos, instead of me having to pay $90 at the Nike Store for them.. or even if they sold them at Academy

But what it happening is the division of Boosters.. The Houston BMDs got their way with hiring Tom with no backup plan because they were convinced he was a sure thing. That shit happens when you have an interim AD who easily gets swayed by his buddies.

Now the same Dallas BMDs want to go after Urban, the way they went after Saban. Those guys don't understand how the Admin side of the school doesn't like red flags, hell they barely approved Tom for rumors of what he did at tosu, and the fact that he called in a radio show in Houston to argue with two local DJs. It's gonna be an internal struggle to get them to approve it, even if the BMDs foot the bill.

Tom is in his 4th year currently, the guy needs to get out of his own fucking way.. You hired Yurcich to call the plays, don't jump into it and do the same calls ( QB option, Zone read, 5 yard route when you need 7 yards) when you have a lead and can put the game away.
It's like he hasn't learned anything.. you have to stay aggressive and score in this conference.. The players don't need to learn how to win, HE'S the one who needs to learn how to win.

Defense is improving and I expect it to be pretty salty in November.

I've always been impressed with Del Conte. We'll see how he and the upper admin deal with this crap. If they screw it up, there may be no hope for Texas until they figure out how to deal with the nutty BMDs. There are several Texas BMDs here in the oil patch (along with a lot of Aggie ones). Some are sensible. Others are absolutely sold on themselves and think they can bark order to the entire university. They are used to barking out order to the underlings in all their companies and organizations and it being done like they say and done immediately. No questions asked. When they realize your can't order someone else's dog around it doesn't work like they want and throw a fit like a 12 year old.

The quagmire is it doesn't take very many willing contributors to remove the financial implication as a reason not to move on. My guess is they'd have enough promised to buy Herman out in 30 minutes or less. That can be both a blessing and a curse.

I feel it's asking a lot for a group that have paid up front for the new Basketball arena, olympic swimming pool, South EZ project, and facility upgrades for the Mens and Womens track teams..

I get Texas has deep pockets but at some point they have to pinch them during a Pandemic... But maybe they have really deep pockets like @fordman84 and can put up the 50/60 mil this would cost (buyout for TH and staff, hire Meyer?? and new staff).

I don't think my younger brother's annual Longhorn Foundation contribution will be enough lol

Well I can guarantee herman isn't going to reduce his buyout to your kickass 15 year old HD DVD's. Maybe you could hit the pawn shop and scrounge up a few bucks.

I honestly have the DVDs along with the 2004 Rosebowl game somewhere in my attic..probably mixed in with my old Matrix DVDs. Luckily for me I have LHN through Verizon, where they air them a few times each month.

Are you saving your millions for the Jimbo buyout? You do know he's Fran right?

No, they were definitely overrated. Were they a great football team when Frost was tehre? absolutely, were they the world beaters tehy tried to claim they were? absolutely NOT. they were Great for what they are. They dont have the depth or size (in actual weight) to compete with p5 programs day in and day out
