Someone explain the Oregon Ducks

I realized awhile ago it was not Macho Man and that it was not the title belt but someone's head, but to me that avatar will always be an early 1980 macho man

I've always thought a team was only as good as the opponents they play week in and week out. So I'd say because the PAC 12 hasn't prepared Oregon properly.

But, it sure looks like Dabo's blown the shit out of my thought on this. Or maybe the ACC has prepped them better than perceived.
 
OK, I'll take a shot at answering this. One of our homes is in Lake Oswego so we spend a lot of time in Oregon. The state is drop dead beautiful. Absolutely stunning and the climate is wonderful about 90% of the time. But the people.......... Seriously, I've been surprised at how distant most of them are, how their work ethic sucks and how willing they are to follow a "leader" like Kate Brown, the Gov. It's like they're sheep. If I had to use one word to describe most people in Oregon is would be "soft". There's no frontier spirit, coal miner mentality, southern boy fuck ya attitude, Yankee get-outta-my-face attitude or Midwestern endure-the-blizzards toughness. I think it kinda boils over to the football team that has no killer mentality......they're soft. Heaven help us if they ever toughen up because then they would be hard to handle with their talent and playing in a conference they could rule.
 
Easy
Until Oregon wins a National Championship, they are a nice team a lot like.

Baylor under Art Briles

I would give Oregon at least a slight spot ahead of all three. At least Oregon has played for NC's

Art Briles had one top 10 season at Baylor. The comparison is laughable.

They aren't even close. We have 2 Hattie's and a legitimate right to claim at least two others.

they started improving in the 80s
got better into the 90s and 2000s
had a few fluctuations and down seasons.
same into 2010s
they made it to a couple National Championships where they lost on a last second field goal and and a slump of a 4th quarter.
can they break through? maybe
will they? to be seen.

Sounds similar to Florida, except we went to 4, and won 3.

So I guess not as similar perhaps...

I agree with that but he mentioned a specific timeframe that included us playing for two natties and winning one.

Lost in the 4th quarter in 2015. That is a very glass half full way to look at that game
