If you were spoofing exact characters, yeah. Spoofing a plot progression, not necessarily. And Lone Starr was always more of a "Han Solo" character, anyway, with Barf as his "Chewy". With John Candy having been dead for over 30 years now, maybe Lone Starr losing Barf aligns with Anakin losing Padme?
