TV Series Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett

At this point it is what it is. This thing feels rushed like they just wanted to to do something Boba Fett and just ran with the first idea they had.

I don’t hate it but the slowest and worst episodes of the Mandalorian are better than this product.

I think it would have been more focused, but they may have thought there wasn’t enough material for an entire season there.

Also, they would not have been able to have the fan-service post credit scene at the end of Mando2
I think they could have drug out the season on the sand people. Then we wouldn't have lame scenes like "oh look, a biker bar. I'll walk in and beat them all up" or the rushed train fight scene. Even if they had just spent a few episodes just on his backstory, much better. Now we are just seeing flashbacks and dreams that have nothing, so far, to do with what we are seeing going on in present day.

I feel like this show needs the "now we're in Mexico" lens filter. Tatooine looks too bright and clean.

I just actually noticed that about a year or so back. It is SOOOO bad…

Saw a video theorize some of that was to show off all the Mos Espa stuff (which admittedly looks pretty good). But yeah, that low speed chase was just out of place.
My GF was laughing at the cheesy chase scene and it reminded me of The Who "Quadrophenia" Mods vs Rockers

I like it so far only because I'm learning the back story behind Boba. I'm guessing that those who know the back story with Boba would tend to think it's a bit boring.

It's still early in the season so hopefully it picks up and has plenty of action.

Everything they have shown is new history. Actually, outside of Mando, all that has been shown of boba is pre-New Hope. Mostly him as a kid.

Ok I hadn't seen the 3rd episode. That chase scene was some of the worst cinematography I've seen from a real production unit. Lord that was bad.

I feel like I've noticed this a few times with cinematography. The first fight we saw with Boba Fett against the storm troopers in the Mandalorian had that same feel.

Personally, I can still see the potential for a really interesting plot. Maybe it's just me having read up on/been curious about the criminal underworld but this setting up that it'll turn into a criminal gang war of some kind would be something I'd be interested in, especially if it doesn't have larger ramifications for the galaxy at-large and is mostly self-contained. Liked the Tusken Raider lore too, but honestly was glad they seemed to wrap that up in the third episode so they could advance the plot. Morrison and Wen are good in their roles, too.

Just so much of the production of it other than the set/costume designs and pacing at times is just so blah. This is the problem I've noticed with Disney is it does all these projects without seemingly thinking out a timeline. First it was the sequel trilogy in which all these new shows/movies will have to be forced to acquiesce to that timeline instead of essentially having free reign and now this. Season 1 of Fett could've been done before the Mandalorian (and Fett appearing in season 2 a cool reveal still) with it being his life after escaping the sarlacc pit, and this could've been the season where he rules Tatooine and the two interesting stories could've been done without the back-and-forth.

That fight felt like a Power Rangers fight scene.

Y'all make it sound so bad, I'm actually pumped to watch it

Not only have they managed to humanized the sand people, they let us know that Rancors are just big lovable puppies dogs. I like it better than I thought I would

I sat down with my GF and she gave me a timeline as to when all this is taken place compared to all the Star Wars movies. She showed me this....

9 ABY - A lone gunfighter – Din Djarin – makes his way through the outer reaches of the galaxy where he stumbles upon a young-ish green creature. The warrior goes on the run, hoping to keep the creature away from harm, and ends up adopting the young creature as his own.

Din hopes to reunite the creature with the Jedi. He eventually meets Ahsoka Tano, who is on the hunt for General Thrawn. She tells Din to head to Tython and use a special stone to call to any Jedi who may be out there. Ahsoka also reveals the creature's real name: Grogu.

Grogu calls to the Jedi but is then captured by the evil Moff Gideon, who holds the Darksaber blade. Din gets the help of previously-thought-dead Boba Fett and the former heiress of Mandalore, Bo-Katan, to beat Moff Gideon. They almost succeed, when a battalion of Dark Trooper droids arrive. Luckily, Grogu's call to the Jedi is heard, and Luke Skywalker saves the day. Skywalker then takes Grogu away to be trained as a Jedi. (The Mandalorian)

9 ABY – Former bounty hunter Boba Fett arrives on Tatooine with Fennec Shand to take over the planet's criminal underworld. Their plans are thwarted by Tatooine's mayor, along with the Hutt twins, and the Pyke Syndicate. (The Book of Boba Fett)

What I meant by back history, compared to where the Star Wars movies are now some 35 years ABY, The Book Boba Fett is 25 years back in history. However you're right it's all new history that we haven't seen or learned about.

It's not bad. Episode 3 is just bland with some really cheesy as fuck moments. It was directed by Robert Rodriguez, who tends to do shit like that. Good news is I don't think he has any more eps left.

Rodriguez is one of the EPs on the show, so I would not be surprised to see him direct more. Especially with his BFF, Danny Trejo taking an apparent, somewhat major-ish roll on the show.
