TV Series Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett

My wife hasn't watched any of the Boba Fett series with me, but was in the room for last night. She asked me at the end "isn't this about boba Fett?" :noidea:

But I loved it, having both series able to cross over story lines will be interesting. To me this really helps bolster a Marvel Universe type system for Star Wars. I have not done any research into what other story lines or characters they want to spin off. I've always wanted to see a backstory, even if it is just a standalone movie, on the Hutts.
There is a bit of that in Cone Wars and Rebels

There's supposedly 7 episodes of this series, which means they're either setting up these last two to be either complete bangers or a complete fucking dud.
I hope we get some action, and I hope it isn't just Boba hires mercs and the "battle" is just a few seconds.

My GF started watching all the Star War movies one by one for the umpteenth time and I saw where Jar Jar was goofy as ever in one of the battle scenes. I thought to myself there seems to be goofy scenes in most of the Star Wars movies and why not Boba Fett such as the biker chase scene. I came across this video to help explain....

Each episode so far seems to have it's goofy moments but I tend to think it's on purpose and is aimed at the younger audience.

I really enjoyed watching the trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3
I really don’t understand the strategy of that episode. Did they get half way through production of the season and realize they didn’t have a winner so they needed to change gears? It just doesn’t make sense.

Great episode. But it just didn’t fit.

I think the plan was always to have him be involved somehow but that whole episode was about giving him new missions that will take all season to accomplish.

Right. It was a Mandalorian episode. Not a Boba Fett episode.

I think part of it was marketing to pump up the next season. Part of it is they introducing him as a character in this story and giving background. Part of it is they probably didn’t have enough material to do a whole season so this is a filler episode. The Mandalorian did that also with the prison episode.

I’m guessing he will help BF and move on and his new season will pick up where he leaves in BF. He won’t be accomplishing his mission in this series.

But Mando was still the main character in the Prison episode. Boba didn’t even appear in this episode.

Boba didn’t appear and I thought it was the best episode yet. That’s telling honestly.

I just hope the Obi wan series is better and more engaging. If not let’s stop visiting old characters and focus on new shit.

I actually like that that are attempting to fill in the back stories

I don’t blame the meh series on the fact that it is Boba. I blame the meh series on it being a meh series. The Boba eps in Rebels, Clone Wars and Mando were good enough. They are just making him a pussy in this show, and that doesn’t help.

the sand people stuff is fine, but whenever they go to the present it's usually cringe, like any scene with ace face and the rest of the quadrophenia gang. did someone pitch there's a gang into mods and one writer was like, right mods, I know exactly what you're referring to.

Yep. Temuera Morrison is great, and there's plenty of mystique and backstory to work off with Boba Fett. The writing and production has just been so lackluster at times. Hell even compared Mando season 2 Boba to non-flashback Boba, feels like two different characters sometimes. Still say should've been separated into pre-Mandolorian events and post for this show.

I'm at least hoping with the Obi-Wan series that if we get lackluster writing that Ewan McGregor can overcome that. The advantage he has over Boba Fett is McGregor is a large reason why so many fans fell in love with that character and wanted to see more.

Will the Obi-Wan series take place during his exile on Tatooine? Culminating in a certain duel?

I believe so. I'm sure we'll see the duel but that has to be towards the end. We have 18 years of content to retcon before we get there.

That being said I'm not sure if we need to see it. We already saw it and it went from oh shit this is happening to Obi saying die bitch in 15 seconds. It was a perfect yet anticlimactic end to arguably one of the best 3 villains in that universe. As big as he was in TCW and Rebels Obi just dropped his ass. I'd love to get Maul in the series and if we get a Vader Maul duel I'm probably more interested in that than seeing Obi fuck him up.

For real. I binged from start to current last night and tonight. Was okay enough that I kept going, but the last episode pulled me in to the point I want to stay up for the new episode hoping it keeps going with the mandalorian vibe. 😂
