I never watched this but after the season finale of The Mandalorian I really need some "new" Star Wars content so here goes.

Midway through season 2 and I have a few thoughts.

1. If the Jedi are that smart they should have known Padme and Anikan were fucking. It's pretty obvious.

2. I'm still holding out hope for Sith Jar Jar. I know it doesn't happen but it just makes too much sense.

3. Grevious really wants a piece of Anikan. He will eventually find out this was a mistake.

4. I've found Ashoka Tano way less grating than I anticipated. I heard she kinda sucked the first couple of seasons but got better. I completely disagree. She's a great protagonist.

I'm on season 3 but have a pretty good idea of what happens in the series (shitposting groups, Wookiepedia, YouTube, did watch all of the last season, etc.)

Always love the dichotomy of trying to keep things all fun and cute for the kids watching and then watching someone get brutally murdered. Overall it's a solid show. Some episodes are definitely better than others but it's a great way overall to fill in the gaps of what happened between 2 and 3 kinda like the Mandalorian started to between 6 and 7.

The last season is worth getting to if you haven't cheated like me and seen it already.

I haven't and I'll wait.

One thing for me is the independent thought of the Droids and clone troopers. They were both made for one specific purpose but they have free will. That's a really big thing to think about in this universe.

Yeah if you didn't check it out when it dropped and are now watching it through definitely wait, just curious if you did what I did and watched it as it came out.

I like that too. Think some of the droid stuff might be for comic relief but it still gets into the topic of droid sentience and that whole question around it (something we see again in Solo). The clone independence is compelling, I'll just leave it at that because I don't want to give anything away.

You seen Rebels by chance? If not, I recommend watching seasons 1-6 of Clone Wars, all of Rebels, and then come back and finish the final season of Clone Wars. You can watch it straight through and it'll be fine, but season 7 hits different if you know the events of Rebels. It's got a different emotional feel to it.

Clone Wars is AWESOME!

The droid scenes are a bit cringey, but the initial target audience was kids, so I give it a pass (ftr, I believe they adjusted the target audience in later seasons).

I have actually been thinking about the droids in the SW universe quite a bit over the last year or so, and I think I have a theory for why they don’t communicate via WiFi and why they all essentially have self awareness...

Skynet.

The living in the galaxy don’t want a Borg or Terminator situation to arise, so they slow down the transfer of data between droids and make sure they have a kind of conscience (the 3 laws, if you will).

I do like how it delves into the progression of Anikan. It was rushed in the movies but he is a legitimate badass. He's a living cheat code when it comes to turning bodies cold.

Clone Wars saves the prequels. It's part of the reason why Dave Filoni is so highly regarded. It literally fills in all the details. Now you couldn't get them all in the movies, but they still should have had some. Hoping that him and Favreau do the same for the sequels at some point

Big fan. They did an excellent job with that series and Rebels.
Also, Obi Wan totally knew Ani was banging Padme.
