GAME TAMU @ Auburn - ESPN - now

SEC went from 6 teams alive for the playoffs to just 4 with one of them barely hanging on(A&M still controls its own destiny, but I can’t see them beating Texas and UGA)
I guess you could argue that a 9-3 team could still get in with more chaos next week.

I've got to figure out wtf to do with the cfp projections this week. What a mess

A&M controls its own destiny for winning sec...remains to be seen if they would make the playoffs

fyi: If A&M beats Texas and goes to the SEC CCG and loses to Georgia, the Aggies will finish 9-4. I don't think they make it in with 4 losses. Right? However you work it, make sure my Cyclones (11-2) make it! :)
Let's look at this way:

- UGA in for sure.
- Texas loses next week, they should be out but probably won't be with Bama and OM laying an egg. So they are in.
- ATM out if loses to Texas, out if they lose the SECCG, in if they win
- UTjr in with 2 losses, so long as they beat Vandy, no certain thing.

Basically, if ATM loses either of the next 2 games, SEC will get 3 teams in opening a slot for the ACC to get 2 in, IMO.

If Texas were to lose next week, SMU wins, Clemson knocks off USCjr, and Miami wins, the ACC might get 2 in anyway, and Texas drops out.

As usual crazy shit happens in the end.

Sure they are, assuming we beat GaTech. We will be ranked 7th this coming week. If we drop out with the best SOS, because we played an extra game that others didn't play, just hand the whole thing up.

Never bet on a complete loser. Their own fans were beating on Auburn and the line got down to +1.

Oil money went orange and blue.

You mean Miami wins the CCG? Or wins at Syracuse and lose the CCG?

Hell, I must have been under a rock. I didn't know until now the ACC was only playing 8 conference games.

This weekend taught us all that is probably best to STFU and let it play out. There is no rule a 3 loss team can not get into the playoffs. We may be 1 or 2 more upsets from seeing that

Ya, it's dumb as shit.

If we are going to have these retarded mega conferences, then there should be nine conference games

Could this be the year a 5 loss team makes it in?

Or 10. Unless they are all going to play better OOC schedules.

But if the committee doesn't reward better schedules, I think teams will go the other direction and schedule weaker in OOC.

Yup, ACC and SEC. B1G and B12 are poverty conferences that felt they need more games to make more money and a better chance to get into the BCS and CFP.

Seriously, this has been a bullshit story for a long time. Did you realize that the B1G was 8 games until 2016? To hear the B1G fans whine about it, you'd think that was something that they've done since the were winning all those NCs back in the 1920s. They have been whining about scheduling for so long - playing the November bye games, bowl games in the south, and recently a 9 game IC schedule - they forgot that it's only been 10 years since they started playing 9 and it wasn't some noble reason like they wanted it to be more fair.

The B1G did it to have a better chance to get in the CFP. The B12 and the PAC did it because it fit their round robin formats when they had fewer teams.
