My salary cap keeper league roster to start the season (Standard scoring)

QB - Anthony Richardson IND
QB - Dak Prescott DAL
RB - Bijan Robinson ATL
RB - Isaiah Pacheco KC
RB - Jonathon Brooks CAR
RB - J.K. Dobbins LAC
WR - Ja'Marr Chase CIN
WR - Garrett Wilson NYJ
WR - Devonta Smith PHI
WR - Chris Godwin TB
WR - Jayden Reed GB
TE - Jake Ferguson DAL
PK - Ka'imi Fairbairn TEX
DT - Browns Defense CLE

We start 9 each week, 2 WRs one FLEX. I think this team has gotta be the favourite. I might try to trade Reed for a RB, I wasn't planning/expecting to get Godwin for the minimum but now he can fill the role that I had carved out for Reed.

My team, salary cap auction leage with up to 3 keepers, 12 team league:

QB CJ Stroud
QB Matt Stafford
WR Tyreek
WR McClaurin
WR Christian Kirk
WR Odunze
WR Jameson Williams
WR IR Ainias Smith
RB Jonathan Taylor (K)
RB Achane (K)
RB Jamaal Williams
TE McBride (K)
TE Goedert

K Bass
Def Cincy

I don't care about my K or Def, I rotate them out all year anyways. I'm pissed about my RB's, Tyreek emptied my cash and everyone was outbidding me on every RB I wanted to get. Couldn't even get Chuba or Rico Dowdle, tried to draft and stash Chubb but someone outbid me there too. So I'll be scouting the waiver wires. Maybe I can flip Odunze for a good RB.

Damn, that's a loaded roster. Is it an 8 team league or something?

12 teams but we are allowed to keep 6-9 players every year and the contracts are 3 years (and can be extended past that if the guy is cheap enough that you can afford the raises) so if you do well in the auctions for a couple of years in a row it can really snowball (and on the other side of things if you fuck up a couple of years in a row it can be a difficult recovery because there is somewhat limited player availability each year). Also helps that we have a college pick every year (an NCAA guy not a rookie, I had to hold Bijan for 2 years) whose contract goes $1-$2-Restricted Free Agent, so Bijan is in the 2nd year of that deal but I will have to pay him (over) market price next year if I want to hang on to him again.

There are basically a handful of owners with stacked teams and a handful with shitty (relatively young) teams. I'm going for the three-peat this season.

Oooh, I like the draft one college kid approach. What application do you use? We have been on Yahoo from day 1, about 10 years ago now. We are allowed up to 3 keepers and also for a max of three years. You have to draft him or get him off waivers while he was never on another roster for him to be eligible to keep, and you pay the Yahoo average draft cost or draft cost +10% to keep them. So the top players are usually available every year.

I always try to grab and stash one player with my last pick. Last year it was Jonathan Taylor, this year Ainias. Not sure Philly will actually do anything with him, but I know he's a burner on the right team.

Every fucking year, my team shits the bed in week one. Worked out well last season, I came within 6 points of winning the league and had the most points in the league for the season, but I scored less in week one than I did in my byemaggedon week

We're on CBS, the first season using our current salary cap/auction format was 2003 but I've been in this league with most of these owners since 2001 I believe? They're all my fraternity brothers, it's an alumni league that has been around for 30 years or so.

The auction is wild, when we started this league most of the online resources that exist now for live auctions weren't really around and we are all spread out with very busy schedules so we decided on a blind auction. Every round each team nominates a player (and a backup choice) by email before noon eastern. At noon the commissioner puts together and sends out the nomination list and we then have until 10 pm that evening to blindly bid by email on anyone nominated in that round (must submit a $1 bid on your nominated player and must stay under the salary cap with your bids). At 10 pm the commissioner checks the inbox and figures out who won the players and we then have until noon the next day to submit our nomination for the next round. If two teams bid the same amount then the team who sent their bid in first wins the player, but there is rarely a tie because we go right down to the penny with the bids! It's the kind of auction where you'd better remember your game theory textbook

I like it too. I've done well with my college picks, although a few have been a bit disappointing at the NFL level I've had lots of guys who have been drafted very high. I have Ashton Jeanty this year.
