There is some truth to that...

A few years ago I was in this charity tournament that my friend runs and I was with a group of guys who brought a shit ton of alcohol. We started off eh, finished in second place and we were taking shots all day and whatever drink they were giving me

Works for me with pool. There is this sweet spot of buzzed and hammered. I know I'm better buzzed than sober.
