You've been granted a reprieve....but really though, I've granted myself the right to watch you melt.

Carry on.

Don't go changin'.

*edit for: Little? Hehehh....put your hand in my front pocket then...but don't let go of that belt loop.

You’ll be disappointed. While confirming how much of a giant pussy you are.

That is all.

Doubtful but whatever floats your boat.
View is nice from here.

Just had a thought: TCU and Baylor both spent a jillion dollars on improving their facilities and have been depending on a long term revenue stream from the Big XII to pay for everything. Can you imagine what's going through their athletic directors' minds now? Oklahoma State did the same thing but it was a few years earlier and may (or may not) be in a similar situation.

JFC you pretentious dumbass, we are talking markets as in cities not teams. When streaming becomes universal it won’t fucking matter if it’s in bumblescum WV or New York City. A market isn’t goi g to matter when people can watch any team anywhere by streaming.

For a law educated fellow, you sure are a dumbass. But continue to be wrong.
Dude ... when ESPN awards a TV contract, they don't base it on cities. They base it on the number of people watching the game wherever they live. How can this be hard for you. One of the reasons the B1G's contract is so big is they have so many alumni all over the US. They have long had the largest numbers of students compared to the southern schools that are just starting to grow. More eyes, no matter where they are, the more money they get.

Now, when a conference decides to expand, they do look at city and state markets to see if it is one that is currently unserved. So, as an example, the B1G took in Rutgers in order to get the NJ/NY market where Rutgers alumni more likely live in higher concentrations. That would allow them to get more eyeballs from the area. The problem as many people pointed out was that NJ/NY has pro fans, not so much college fans. So, TV markets is something the conferences consider in expansion hoping they get the alumni and perhaps people in the area that also would be fans of the local team. But, they will get those eyes whether someone watches it on cable, satellite, or streaming it through ESPN+ or whatever.

But again, you conflate streaming with cutting the cord even though you won't admit it. People have been able to watch CFB anywhere for a long time. If you live in Cali you can get the B1G Network and watch your team. You've been able to do that for a decade not because of streaming, but because of the network that is available by streaming, cable, or satellite.

Streaming as you use the term is just replacing cable (that's the cord cutting you are confused about) but it's still the SEC, ACC, B1G networks that they are watching, just through a different medium. And it's available all sorts of ways.

Now, to close this down, cord cutting is the thing that is going to shrink the pie. For years, everyone had to buy ESPN whether you watched it or not. It was part of the package. Now, you can cut the cord and those who don't care about sports can choose not to watch it and not pay for it. That's the danger of cord cutting/streaming.

Your initial reaction is to start yelling and screaming and calling me names. It's in your nature. Stop and re-read what I wrote. I'm right on this.

fwiw, there's a reason why the ACC is behind the other conferences in revenue, despite the ACC technically having a presence up and down the eastern seaboard. ACC has a disproportionate amount of smaller, private schools (which is why ND prefers the ACC over the Big Ten, btw) and those schools tend to not have as big of a following as big state schools. You can also argue that Georgia Tech, despite being a state school, has more in common with the private schools of the conference than the public schools due its academic profile + fan following.

Moral of the story, don’t kill the golden goose you dumb fucks.

Cries about being called names while calls names. lolz
The point I made wasn't that you call names, although that is all that you seem to do. It's just that you do it to everyone. Have you ever posted a single substantive post of value?

Splitting up the money evenly between conference members is socialist. Eventually the person/company/university doing most of the heavy lifting gets tired of it and rebels. Of course then they're called "selfish" and all kinds of stuff but when it happens the entity that just called BS on everyone else couldn't care less about being called names. They just want to get away from the moochers.

Sounds like something straight out of Ayn Rand’s pen.
